    "Grading" Rocky Terain?

Welcome - I'm in a way different local and rock composition but have the exact same problem on my trails. I'm on a ridge with glacial deposited granite boulders everywhere (softballs to suburbans!). Any soil moves downhill with the rain and new rocks are right there under the surface. I only...

    Questions after 50-hour service

Not to beat a dead horse, but still very surprising to me given 40+ years of changing oil in all sorts of vehicles including my Ford 3 cyl diesel (i.e not my first rodeo:unsure:). I mean I never have others do it for me. But... I'm new to this one so thanks again - Must be something with this...

Value of used attachments when buying a used tractor?

I also would check them out but as posted above, probably a good deal. FYI: I would LOVE to find some decent implements at 50% I was counting on it but they are scarce and closer to 100% around here this last year since I have been looking. BTW - you will find a use for that BB

    Questions after 50-hour service

Thanks for all of the input. Learn something here every time Yes, I counted the amount in the filter into the 6 qt. Just really surprising to me that a full 1/2 quart was still in there when drained warm and with long time to fully empty. I will know next time! Wasn't sure it was shipped...

    Questions after 50-hour service

Thanks again to all of those sharing their knowledge here. This is a great group and I hope to pay it forward. I recently completed the 50 hour service on L2501 and have a few questions: 1) Changing the Oil: FYI I did both oil and full hydraulic fluid & filters. I warmed it up - not hot but...

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

Here I am jumping back in when I really try to keep out of these threads... ;) Ralph, you obviously have a lot of experience and are getting to the same point I was trying to make when you came at me. Conventional wisdom says to go by the SAE API classifications, conditions i.e. anticipated...

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

I am NOT labeling anything or saying what is misinformation OR trying to stir the pot or come at anyone. :) Just saying oil threads rile people up more than anything no matter which subset you are in and EVERYONE has an opinion. I do stand by my last sentence...

Synthetic or Conventional motor oil in Kubota diesels

Wow - just checked back in!! I must say that this thread reflects the variety of opinions and some misinformation that also occur on the classic car forums also. :p On those, we have some engineers that have been in the business since it developed and posted tests and specs to the point that...

    Shopping a L2501 tractor

Welcome to posting and you already know what a great resource this group is! A few caveats and then some things to look at on your costing break out It's supply & demand w/ covid/supply chain but things seem to be freeing up a bit based on input here My reference point is 9 months old (good or...

    50 hour service

Nice - thanks for the clarification. I have been working on old cars and in that hobby for many years and never heard of this. For my full education (never too old to learn a new trick!) how much comes out otherwise? I know how "precious" the udt-2 is ;)

    L series Backhoe worth getting?

👆 Same for me - my property and soil is half rock but in my case it's glacial deposit boulders everywhere. No joke they are softballs to suburbans - I have to choose wisely but the BH & thumb has been awesome in getting access & developing carefully routed new trails

Why do they make the F.E.L handle so long?

NHSleddog said: I like the shot of the Jeep in its natural state (not moving with the hood up) - LOL Aww, come on now...!! Go easy NHSledog - I've been using my jeep as my original firewood tractor for decades. It's better than a swiss army knife and I'll never be without one

Why do they make the F.E.L handle so long?

Welcome. A lot of people have reported this feeling on various models and have trimmed them down. Mine is newer but I agree. I have not done so yet but probably will. some liken it to a bus, old truck shifter or the old ratfink hot rod cartoons!
