By speed, I mean that as your grass/weeds get higher, the speed will be reduced because it will require more power from your tractor. With what you listed, you really should be able to cut it at the same speed or higher with the new M.

Welcome to the OTT forum. You have enough HP to handle an 8' cutter but what really matters is: 1) speed, 2) height of weeds/grass, 3) what you are cutting.

It all depends on a couple of things. If it was overfilled with oil and worked harder because of the twine, then normal. If not then I would be worried. The vent plug is there to let off pressure to prevent blowing the seals. I have that tiller and have never had any oil leak.
