3rd function on 3901 with bh77

hello....I've been looking all over the forums but none seem to match my exact scenario.

I bought a land pride 3rd vavle with the hose kit because I have a backhoe.

trying to find where to interrupt the hydraulics to plumb the valve. I'll post some pictures of how my tractor is setup...because I haven't seen any that are the same on these forums.

any help would be appreciated

without a backhoe, there's a power beyond port on the hydraulic block (mounted on the right side of the tractor, below the step-it's got 3 hoses on it)...the PB hose normally goes from the block to the loaders "BY" port. Sometimes the port on the loader valve is marked "PB"-but usually "BY".

When backhoe is installed, that hose gets removed, and a hose is run from the block to the backhoe, then from the backhoe up to the loader valve. You will be tapping into the hose that goes to the loader valve. Actually you can use either one but I use the one FROM the backhoe, as it's just easier for me. Remove hose from loader valve BY port and you may have to pick up a 1/2" JIC fitting to adapt the 3rd function valve to the backhoe hose. Backhoe hose that WAS on the loader valve goes to the "in" port of the 3rd function. The other hose from the 3rd function will go to the loader valve. The 3rd function basically just goes inline between the hoe and the loader valve, just make sure you use the BY port on the loader valve and not either of the other two ports.

Hope that didn't confuse you. Think of it as going in line...the 3rd function valve just goes in line between the hoe and the loader valve.

most people I have seen have their power beyond line going to their backhoe ...but mine is not... just want to clarify the plumbing will work correct if I take the backhoe return line that currently goes in my "by" port on my loader and put that in my third function then the other line going from 3rd function into my "by" port on the loader

Not able to help you on the hose layout. I will say that things look way to clean, thats probably why your having a hard time figuring it out [emoji848]
