    L2501HST hydraulic fluid disappearing

I've not had that experience with my Kubota and it may be rare. I did have it with my Mitsubishi. Hydraulic fluid can get past a shaft seal on the splined drive and leak into the crankcase. My fix was a new hydraulic pump. I suspect if one can replace the shaft seal that would be all that's...

    Kubota L175

The tractor was produced between 1973 and 1976. Many tractors of that era did not die when the ignition switch was turned off. The throttle lever had to be moved to the cutoff position. To restart the throttle had to be moved from the stop position. If that isn't it the air path may be...

    Little help please

If it's a Kubota loader it's probably the L1200 according to Tractor Data. http://tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/2/7/1277-kubota-l185.html

    L3200 won't start....Going RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT

I have lost a battery in the winter but agree with the above comments - it sounds like a weak battery. Corrosion on the terminals, wires, or loose connections can also cause this symptom. Clean and tighten all connections at the battery. Do not neglect the ground wire where it attaches to the...

    What is up

Global warming. That's the answer for everything that's wrong, even too much snow. As far as flies go I think it depends on where you live. I've seen a couple this year. I think I may have collected one mosquito bite, too.

    What's to Small, B5100DT

See if you have any rental places nearby. I think the local one rents the 25 hp chipper for less than that. I think I rented one over night (late afternoon until 0800 the next morning) for about $140.

    MX5000SU Starting issues

Put a voltmeter on your battery. While watching it have somebody turn on the key and try the starter. If voltage drops to a ridiculously low level your battery is shot. Of course you may wish to charge and have it load tested. If voltage stays above twelve try cleaning terminals and cable...

Kubota L2500DT Normal Operating Temperature and Operating Time

I had a Mitsubishi D2350 which may have been the same vintage. The over temp light was supposed to illuminate at 111 degrees C or 232 degrees F. I suspect if you're running 180 F or so you're in good shape. As far as a specific amount of time to run a tractor, it's commonly an all day...

    Antifreeze

Check your manual. My L2501 is supposed to use ethylene glycol based antifreeze. I know of no special antifreeze for diesels. I generally use Prestone but have used Peak in the past as well. I don't think brand really matters that much I just have to make sure whatever I use is compatible...

    L185 oil pressure

I believe Russel is referring to the oil pressure relief valve. It's purpose is to prevent over pressure in case of a blockage in the oil system. It would normally be closed, beginning to open when oil pressure reaches a certain point where it opens and begins dumping excess pressure. I quit...

    Questions/ Advice

As the guys said, stick with SUDT2 in your transmission. You don't want to chance ruining it with the wrong lubricant. Several diesel rated oils are acceptable for the engine. Many of the guys use Shell Rotella T6 in their engines though I believe it may be in short supply at the moment. I...

    Fuel starvation

It sounds like you may have crud collecting at the output of your fuel tank. Blowing back into the line blows the crud away from the output until fuel flow moves it back. You may need to drain and clean your tank and begin using an algicide to kill further algae build up.

    Stiff 'gas' pedal

I see nothing to identify what tractor you have. From the problem description it sounds as though you have a tractor with an HST transmission and the forward and reverse treadle pedal is your complaint. If everything is clean and clear you are probably dealing with overcoming the springs which...

B7500 Fuel starved when going downhill

Get your tractor oriented downhill then pull the fuel line as close to the tank as possible. Fuel should flow freely. If it doesn't your fuel level is too low or you have crud in your tank. If it flows freely check for good flow at the filter.

    L3200 50 hour service

No matter what you do you'll lose whatever fluid is in the filter and the lines nearby. Have a bucket handy. I made an adapter for my shop vac to the filler port to apply negative pressure. On my tractor that was a one inch NPT thread so a PVC fitting worked well. I don't know if the seals...

    L2501 HST Safety Adjustment?

I'm not sure what HST adjustment you seek. The treadle lever must be in a neutral position to start, that is neither forward or reverse. If not properly set it can prevent starting. Mine doesn't care what gear is selected with the shifter but it does require me to push in the clutch to start.

I've never had to purge air with a simple hose replacement, just be sure to tighten the fittings and check for leaks.

    L2501 HST basic operation questions

The PTO lever controls the PTO at the rear of the tractor. Depress the clutch before engaging or disengaging. It's the only PTO on the L2501. The speed varies with the engine speed which is why you have a PTO marking on the tach at about 2000 rpm. The tractor need not be in neutral to lock...

L4760: What seems to be transmission oil leak

How much oil is leaking? Does it pool under the tractor or just disappear? If you see no obvious leaks check the level of oil in your crankcase. Sometimes hydraulic oil ends up in the engine when a seal on the hydraulic pump shaft fails.
