    hydraulic connection on L1501DT

You can use the tractor hyd pump to run that hoe but it will be quite slow. You could try it to see if it is satisfactory and install an auxiliary pump and reservoir later if you want. Does your tractor have a loader? Ed

    HST v.s. Gear

Wise choice! I'd stick with the hst too. Keep good oil in it and change the filter as recommended and I doubt you"ll ever have any trouble with it. If you work in tight spots it"ll get you out of trouble lots of times to! Ed

    trans filter on a 7800

Hi Mark The B7800 has one hyd filter and one hst filter if it is hst. It also has a suction screen for both the hyd. and the Hst. 3 to 4 gal. sounds about right. For best performance use Kubota udt. Keep your Kubota ALL Kubota! It'll thank you for it! :D Ed

Best way to tell a B series Hydraulic pump is working

It depends on what "B" you're working with. If you have a loader just use a loader line, If not use the hyd. take of port in the line from the hyd. pump to the TPH control valve. If you don't have one of those you can drill and tap the "banjo" bolt on the pump or the TPH control valve. Whatever...

    b7800 whine

Great!! whole lot better than rebuilding the hydrostat huh? The Kubota hydro gives very little trouble, I have only been into one in the last 6 years. I am the only mechanic at a smaller ( we sell 120 to 140 tractors per year plus attachments ) Kubota dealership. I see one or two of these a...

Hi Mark on the small end of that funnel shaped shield there is a rib. in it there is a plastic bushing. when it gets a little worn it vibrates in the shield on the driveshaft and causes the siren type sound ( the funnel shaped shield amplifies it) cut the shield just up from the rib and...

Hi JB62901 In Canada your tractor and loader would have came standard with a weight box, I think it should have in the USA as well! Maybe see if your dealer has a stack of them he "forgot" to include with your tractor. Maybe you'll have one to sell! Ed

Is propeller shaft supposed to run all times~???

Hi, It would be better if the input shaft stopped alright but there really isn't much to stop it when your tractor is in neutral. If the clutch disc is at all draggy on the splines it will be enough to keep it turning a bent or heat damaged disc would also cause it. But if it is that easy to...

    overriding clutch

Hi RDR There is no substitute for a little common sense is there? That being said though, for some people we cannot make the machines safe enough! an overrunning clutch is a good thing to have but if you don't have one and understand the mechanics, you will get along fine. If you have an...

    Winter fuel question

You are right GRNMNTEER, Use a good engine oil that meets the specifications that the engine manufacturer provided, the cold flow characteristics of a 10W or a 5w multigrade will far outweigh the benefit of a heavier oil at operating temperature in a cold climate. I do believe there is...
