    Exhaust gas for Garage question.

Long time since I lived near Durham. I left there 1n 1979. both of my children were born in the hospital there and I have a cousin lives there, Stu and Norma Riddell, Norma is my cousin. Also a friend (who I haven't talked to for years!) Dave Flanigan.] I worked for Moores Garage while there...

    HST v.s. Gear

I really like Kubota's hydrostat. It is a proper built piston type as opposed to the ball piston as used in the Eaton transmission that many others use. The main disadvantage the gear type B7100 has is lack of a live power take off. That is, when you want to stop forward or rearward motion you...

    Hot Hydraulic Oil

A M9540 with Hydrostatic transmission? Have you guys in the States got something else we in Canada don't have? What oil did you use when you changed it? Is the vermeer pto or Hyd drive? 220 isn't going to hurt anything ( the oil in your engine is likely much hotter!) It would be nice if someone...

    800 hours: Valve clearance

I think valve clearance is very important. That being said the Kubota engines don't seem to get out of adjustment much. Maybe you could buy a service manual and learn to do it yourself? It really isn't very hard. Or maybe there is a local mechanic who could check it for you? Ed

    1st tractor

thekillerbee is right! your tractor will almost climb the side of a barn! sidehills are a different story though! specially when, like you, there is a loader. keep that bucket low if you are on any amount of slope. As for weights, put enough on to do the job but it IS a small tractor 200lbs...

    Shear Pins

Some of the snowblowers have a groove machined in the shearpin to weaken it. We had one come in last winter with a broken gear which has a "standard" bolt in it instead of the proper pin. The right shearpin would have been much cheaper!:D Ed

    Hot Hydraulic Oil

How hot is it getting? Hydraulic oil itself is Ok to above 240f but it looses it's cushion ability because of thinning I usually tell my customers it is ok up to about 200f then they should be finding some way to cool it. most 9540's I've checked have been well under that about 150-175f there is...

    New BX2360 hydrolic lift question

No, There isn't a valve you can position. The same hydraulic cylinder lifts both the mower and the TPH. You CAN position your mower in TOP and then it will be mechanically locked there and the TPH will go up and down leaving the mower at the top. Ed

    Exhaust gas for Garage question.

Hi Joe I agree with Dusty. You can move the tractor right after you start it, just don't head into one of those big snowdrifts with it wide open till it gets a chance to get it's fluids moving! I know how big those snowdrifts get around your place! I used to live at Durham, well, Allen Park...

    L3130 lost power steering??

Hi Ob1kubota, They DO show a breakdown of the orbital control valve in the service manual. what spring are you talking about? Is it the pressure control and check valve? If the check didn't close it could create a poor/ no power steering condition. I'd be suspicious of a leak in the suction pipe...

    L295DT Timing Slipped - why?

You don't need the head on, Just put the pushrods in and hold them down with your fingers, turn the engine until you feel the one pushrod go down and the othe one just start to go up. This is valve overlap and it should corrispond to the piston on that cylinder being it the top. The camshaft is...

    Blade size recommendation?

Hi, That blade should be alright for your tractor. A little weight on the front would be a good idea to help steering with the blade on the back unless you have a FEL. Ed

    50 hour change out

Hi Skeets, Can you post some pictures? What model tractor is it? I have had 2 instances where there was way to much junk in the hydraulic filter in L3400's In both cases the customer had changed their own oil, I have never seen it myself in the shop. Kubota's response was that the filter...

    L295DT Timing Slipped - why?

Hi fj40dave, I don't believe there is much chance of your problem being the camshaft key. It is not a shearpin as such and is not designed to ever slip! I still don't understand why the valves didn't foul the pistons in the engine I worked on, if they would have it would have helped immensely in...

    Engine block heater Question.

If you have a Kubota block heater it should be 450 watts or less so you will be OK with that timer. Ed Service

    Tyre size problem

To see how close your ratios are you can do a simple test. Find a level place where you cam drive the tractor at least 50 ft in a straight line. put a mark on the ground by both a front wheel and a rear wheel and a corresponding mark on the tire drive the tractor forward in four wheel drive for...

    Kubota vs: Bob Cat

I have considered leaving the dealership I'm working at and picking up a Kioti or Chinese tractor line but I don't think I could sell them knowing the dealer down the road (kubota) have a much superior product! Even considered Gray market sometimes but these new Kubota's are sooooooo nice! LOL...

    L295DT Timing Slipped - why?

Hi Ob1kubota. I don't believe they had a problem with siezed camshafts, I really think it was an isolated case. They didn't even ask for the block back! The service rep just looked at it in the shop and took a few pictures. These Kubota engines don't have cam bushings (many Kubota's don't) the...
