I have a Kubota L 2250 with a broken shift fork. I have pulled the transmission cover and found the front shift fork broken. I have removed two bolts on the outside of the case that I think holds the shaft the forks are on,but it only lets the shaft move maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch. It looks as if the shaft should move out toward the rear. Is there a trick to remove and replace fork or do I have to split the tractor? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,Mike

Hi Mike V
You will have to split the tractor I'm afraid! That rod just cannot go far enough back to allow the shift fork out any other way.
