    Too Cold Here

Supposed to be some type of alcohol mix in these tires. One frozen, one not? Been way below normal here for the last week or so. Third winter for this rig and this is a first... Guess I'll pull it into the shop tomorrow to thaw...

I've never had a problem with mine... But I don't have the HST pedal that is usually the culprit...

    Transmission oil question

I agree to the use UDT2 if the tractor has HST and or FEL. But the is a very old gear drive with no loader. 80w gear oil is what I'd put in it.

    Only in reverse uphill.

No idea why yours acts that way, but I never go uphill in reverse.

    Please help!!

Are you letting it warm up, or fire it up and hit the pedal? Could be a safety switch fouled up?

L4600DT with LA764 in the stable

Very Nice! Great choice, especially the DT part! :D I probably would have got a L4600DT, but my dealer didn't have them yet and I got too good a deal on the L3800DT to pass. I'm still impressed with the little rig!!! You want at least 1000 lbs on the 3 pt hitch for any loader work. Loaded...

    Transmission oil question

My old L245 used 80W in the trans and didn't have a suction screen. If yours doesn't have a loader, run 80w, that is likely what's in it. Like said give it the sniff test. If it does have a loader and the loader uses the trans oil, change it out to SUTD. Some had a separate oil tank for the...

    L3400 Stuck in gear (?)

It's not a common problem. Maybe just bound up from being in 4wd or something? My L3800 did it a couple times when new, but not since.

Cold Weather Start Up of L3800

HST pedal is the culprit most likely. I never heat plugs more than 10 seconds. Your tractor will last many, many more years if it's covered! The sun will do as much damage as the rain and ice. Please cover it, too nice a tractor to leave out in the elements!

    New to PTO

Yes, I always start PTO at low rpm, idle. No, it should not stall.

How cold are you? Snow, Ice, Just Frozen?

0 here this morning, 8" of snow. Too early for this type of weather here in southern Missouri! We walk & drive on the snow, so no tractor work for me for awhile...

    L2950DT slipping out of 4WD

Good point about the tires, Wolfman! It could have wrong size front or back, R1 & R4 mix match? This might not have been a problem until the weight of the FEL was added & all that weight is felt by the front axle.

    L2950DT slipping out of 4WD

Yeah, I wouldn't use baling wire, I'd tear in and fix it.

    L2950DT slipping out of 4WD

Never had that problem? Might be some type of adjustment in the sift linkage? Make sure you have a good bit of counter weight (500lbs+) on the 3 pt hitch when using that new loader. Tire ballast is good, but not the same..

    L3750 gearing

    I screwed up, mine has 9.5 x 16 fronts. Sorry... 14.9 x 24 rear & 9.5 x 16 front.

Water in tractor tires in central Florida ain't goin to ever freeze!
