High of 70 today an even high with 72 tomorrow but we are in for a nasty ass ice storm to rock the Mid-Atlantic region Saturday night into Sunday. Saying its supposed to be a brutal ice storm of up to an inch of ice.

Here in southern Maine its been mild, we have had -1* a couple times and in the 20's and 30's most mornings in November and December so far. Twice we've had 1"+ of snow. June July August we had 8" -11" of rain each month. I always said if the summer is wet the winter will be dry and vise versa...two weeks ago a huge rain storm went by 3" of rain most places here, IF the cold air had been in place...we would of looked Buffalo in January. Thank God it was rain. But I did see someone ice fishing on a pond yesterday..lol....there can't be much ice.

We had about 2 inches of snow for the first day of BUCK, then got warm and all melted to day is like 38 and dropping rain sleet and snow. I don't mind the snow but the ice on the power lines is a bytch. I got the gen set running, I think,, at least it was running, seems the low oil shut down is/was causing me problems, so like any good back yard gear head I just yanked that baby off,,lol,, Im thinking maybe the 5 w 30 I put in might not be enough to make it make contact,,, so next oil change I ll put in 30w if I can find it and see what happens

Ten below zero here, both yesterday morning and this morning. We got about 16" of snow out of this storm. Nice, light powder. I'm delighted to have a block heater in my Kubota.

It's 22 but feels like 12 right now here in southern Illinois. We just got hit with the ice/snow storm that Eric is talking about. Just spent two hours cleaning up mine and the neighbors driveway, oh and the road in between our houses.

The day before the storm hit it was 68 and humid. Pretty typical for SI.

Pretty sure my dogs were ready to get back inside.

Pretty much the same on this side of the Mississippi River, only less ice, close to a foot of snow.

60 when I got up this morning, but I can already feel it dropping. Don't look forward to what's comeing. Just got my block heater from Northern yesterday, so hopefully the bx will stay warm and ready to go. Lowes's will probably call right after the power goes out, " your generator is in".!!

I don't use any type of heater on my block and she starts up just fine. She stays in the barn but it's not heated, sometimes it think its colder in there than outside.

Just got back inside from cleaning 6 more driveways and pulling 3 people out of the ditch. It's amazing how people drive in this stuff.

Bent my bucket pulling one out that I couldn't hooked to the rear. Guess I should have reinforced it a little better. Live and learn I guess...

Where you at Benhameen, I'm near Creal Springs. I just came in from clearing my drive...about 1/2 mile long....with FEL. Half of it's blacktop, the other half gravel. On the blacktop, cleaned up pretty good....except ice under the snow. Gravel, hard to stay out of it with the FEL. This is the 2nd fair size snow since moving here 2 1/2 years ago....and didn't think we would be getting snows this. 10" here and it's still coming down.

High of 55 today and 40 right now but it is supposed to snow tonight. Tractor with FEL and loaded tires is down. Tractor #2 is a small 2X4 and I do not have a snow blower for it. Tractor #3 is big enough but when I replaced the rear tires I did not add ballast to them ( because I had the L275 with ballast and heavy box scraper for added weight), and it is a 2X4 = useless to move snow.

Why is it that I spend 1 to 3 hours cleaning the snow out of the driveway only because it is something that has to be done but will volunteer to groom trails for 8 to 16 hours and love every min of it?

My God Thumpa ...you've got a fleet of tractors...

Benhameen you've got the same ride as I do...I've been avoiding paying the $3900. bucks for the Curtis cab with heater...BUT I'd love to have one. I think you should get one, so I can hear how nice it is , then buy I'd mine.

I'm located in Hurst, closer to Carbondale, but I work in Marion. I've been thru creal a few times. Have you heard of the corn field lounge?

I find that if i leave a little layer snow on the gravel it's better. Do you use the float while backing up with the FEL? It seems to work good for me.

WFW, that cab would come in handy today, 6 degrees but feels like -5.

Wbk, our temps seem like nothing compared to yours. It's our rapid temp changes that mess with me.

All the work I did yesterday was for free, but I bent my bucket and tweaked my 3pt blade. I was thinking about trying to make a couple bucks clearing driveways today, but I might wait until its at least 10 degrees out.

I know I could have used a mirror yesterday, my back is a little sore from turning around so much.

0 here this morning, 8" of snow.

Too early for this type of weather here in southern Missouri!

We walk & drive on the snow, so no tractor work for me for awhile...
