Propulsion Question: Mini EX vs Tractor

Compared to a tractor the excavator seems so slow for travel, mine has 2 speeds but sometimes I have to travel over a mile from my barn to where I’m working, it’s a very slow journey ....lol slow travel is 1.8 mph Fast travel is 3.1 mph When it comes to clearing stumps and digging the...

    Homestead Implements

It’s good to have a large pool of attachment suppliers and be able to change our minds 41 times! Where possible I like to support made in USA.

    Homestead Implements

I’ve never come across them but they have a nice selection of products, US made and free shipping. I like that they offer a number of paint colors for no extra money and that they offer the full combination of hydraulic couplers for items such as grapples. I’m looking for a light weight 60”...

    Rockhound mulcher

I run a new KX040. Are you using Aux 1? GPM is variable, there are several operation modes. I use hydraulic motor with case drain on disk mulcher on compact track loader, it runs well. sounds as if rockhound has now upgraded the motor, do you know the spec of the motor fitted, I believe your...

OK, So I do not need a new tractor! But a excavator? Maybe...HELP!

You will not regret your mini ex purchase versus the back hoe. I was in the same position earlier this year and started looking for a used machine. I found that any reasonable used machines were priced far too high. I found a light used Kubota KX 040 and asked my dealer for a check price, I...

    BX2680 lift capability... Normal?

I think real world loader capability is a factor that is largely ignored or misunderstood when purchasing a tractor. I use my loader with forks all the time and with other attachments such as grapple and root / debris rake. It’s so important to buy suitable weight forks and attachments to...

LockNLube Grease Gun Coupler - Worth The Price ?

I use the regular version for most things, it’s worth the investment.

LX3310 Cab and filled rear tires

I’m guessing it has something to do with overall operating weight, not sure what additional weight the cab is but I’m guessing it is close to the rear tire loaded weight. too much weight could impact transmission and braking.

    Best implement for rutted lawn?

A photo or two would help as the answer depends on how severe the damage is.

Lug wrench for L2501 rear tires (and front)

Tractors and equipment sure add items to your tool box, I can not believe how often I use the 3/4 set, I have a 4' breaker bar in 3/4 drive and a 6' length of heavy cheater pipe. Too many newer socket sets have a mixture of 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive, my recommendation is to buy a good comprehensive...

L2501 HST noise - more of a screech than a whine

I run all HST's as commented they can be noisy more so in high gear. Hearing protection provides 2 benefits in Michigan at this time of year, I like the extra bit of warmth. In the summer I'm much more tolerable of the HST noise!

    Bent Top Link

If you have rear hydraulics could be time for a hydraulic top link, great excuse for another investment, otherwise time for a new one at tractor supply. At least it did not damage anything else, so it is a happy accident.

    SSQA backhoe attachment

This is not made for a tractor or for use on a tractor front end loader. A skid steer / track loader is a totally different machine in terms of using things on the front. As recommended above just rent a small excavator for your specific task, it will be so much more productive and you can...

Best options for managing 40 acres of heavy woods?

The big question is how big is your investment budget for equipment and how do you see yourself using a tractor longer term? I have well over 300 acres of woodland and face this same issue constantly on a much larger scale, irrespective of budget you will need time. I would strongly advise you...

How to choose a box blade

I purchased a used Woods HB84 from Craigslist to use on the back of my MX5800, I really like it and use it a lot for leveling out trails and rough ground. A hydraulic top link is a great accessory to use with the box blade. Depending on what you are doing weight and width are important...

    Tractor Supply Price Shenanigans

I believe that TSC also has a 30 day return policy for full refund even if you have used it for what ever reason. I purchased a 3 pt sub soiler and the manager told me someone had purchased the unit, used it and returned it for a full refund, store sold it to me at a big discount as it was used...

    Replace Hydrolic Oil?

Another vote of replace all fluid UTD2 and both hydraulic filters, as commented top off the front axle too. It is good to have a second person as the spare set of eyes to watch the sight glass, I've overfilled my L3200 in the past. Disappointing experience with your grapple, hopefully things...
