LX3310 Cab and filled rear tires

Can someone explain why the manual states that if there is a FEL installed with a CAB that there should be no liquid ballast?

my dealer recommended and has already installed it.

I’m going to ask them but I wanted to ask here too

Mine is being delivered tomorrow and it has liquid ballast installed. The dealer didn't say anything about it and since I don't have the manual yet, I didn't know about it. Maybe they think the weight of the cab makes up for the ballast weight. The dealer did tell me that with the liquid ballast, I won't need a ballast box!

I’m guessing it has something to do with overall operating weight, not sure what additional weight the cab is but I’m guessing it is close to the rear tire loaded weight.
too much weight could impact transmission and braking.

This is wrong you must run with something to transfer the weight off of the front axle. You must carry a ballast box or box blade etc. The loaded tires DO NOT transfer the weight to the rear axle they only make the rear of the tractor heavier. The transferring of the weight requires that there be weight on the opposite side of the rear axle from the FEL.

Think of it like a see-saw. You pick up a load in the bucket and that end of the tractor goes down. If you place a second load on the fulcrum all of the weight goes onto the fulcrum and the front of the tractor remains heavy. Now place a load on the opposite end of the see-saw and the bucket becomes lighter and the fulcrum or rear axle carries more of the load. This will slow down the wear and tear on all of the front axle and steering parts.

A request for clarification as to whether or not ballast should be added to rear tires when the FEL is being used has been sent to the Kubota Engineering Dept by my district rep. I was told the Engineering Dept writes the manuals so they should provide the correct answer.

That will be an interesting reply. Many of us have b2650, B3350 tractors with loaders and loaded tires and cabs. They are predecessors to the LX series, but I'm not sure what frame changes there might be.
