    Use power rake on loader

I have not used a power rake on a loader but have used a pto version on the back of a tractor. If the only model you can rent is a front skid steer version I would borrow a track loader to run it for several reasons, main one being to be able to see what you are doing. Tractor loader work...

    Why No Seat Belt Interlock?

Let’s not create more electronics and switches. I know many people who pluged their car seatbelts in by running the belt around the back of the seat just to get rid of the noise. The current seat safety switch is in my opinion the correct balance of safety and convenience. This is a difficult...

Road Safe Dump Trailer that a B series can also pull

I own far too many trailers ...lol. Like you I have many different uses but it’s really hard to find a common solution that meets all needs. The uses you describe require 2 different trailers unfortunately due to the weight, axle requirements, braking requirements and different methods of...

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

The MX has a much greater capacity at the drawbar, I looked up the maximum recommended trailer weight for my tractors: L series - 2,000lbs MX 5800 - 7,700 lbs Be careful with your trailer and mini ex, the combined weight will be over 10,000 lbs, slow and steady!

Road Safe Dump Trailer that a B series can also pull

Take a look at Berkelmens Welding farm dump trailers, I’m sure they would put road tires on one. The 2 ton single axle weighs 700 lb. You did not clarify how much you wanted to use the trailer for road use compared to tractor use. As you appreciate their are several issues between road and...

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

Thanks, this was also the best solution that I came up with for the double axle dump farm trailer. also good suggestion to modify trailer tongue height from other members. I’m leaning towards buying the 2 ton single axle version for simplicity and cost. The single axle version is also half the...

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

That's a pretty big trailer and must have some weight when loaded. Where are you planning to chain it to? Top of receiver frame to drawbar?

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

I think the tandem axles are carrying the weight of the load my tractor is just pulling it, l pull a large heavy 6’ wide angled disc attachment with ground contact with my MX 3 pt hitch, is a trailer any different? l could buy the single axle 2 ton version which will connect straight to the...

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

I'm looking at a tandem axle dump trailer and wondering what I should do when the drawbar height is not in line with the height of the tongue on the tandem trailer. Take a look at this video: It looks like the tongue on the trailer may be as much as 6" or more above the drawbar height of the...

    Confusion on Hydro Fluid Change

If I’m only changing the filters, I drive the tractor on ramps so the side is slightly higher, I found that I lose very little fluid. Ramps are about 7” tall. I agree that it’s good to change all fluids and filters to establish a baseline. Maintenance is cheap insurance for what can be...

    MX5400 Heat Houser

My MX 5800 is my snow clearer here in Michigan, the best solution is a lot of clothes, I like the great visibility and being able to watch the snow blower on the back and the front snow pusher, a cab or enclosure would be nice but I do too much in the woods, Merry Christmas, stay warm. An open...

    B2601 regrets?

My only input would be have you looked at a L2501, key difference is going to be weight, a lot of the uses you list are ground work, weight will help. You will find lots of posts and videos on L2501 vs B2601. Good luck with your final selection.

    B2601 regrets?

Hi, it would be useful if you told us what you planned to manage with your tractor. How much land, what types of attachments and uses you plan to use it for. Forum members can then comment if this model is a good fit for your planned usage.

WSM. KX41-2 VS KX41-3. How Different?

I have a WSM for a KX040-4 that I just purchased. I’m guessing it’s a total of 400 pages with print on each side, so 800 pages of info. very comprehensive and well worth the money.

Slow Moving Vehicle sign for Snowblower

Nice job, I’m like you I care about safety and being seen, not sure half the world does anymore, another great option is a flashing led zip tied to your rops, there are battery options available too.

    Replacing L3901 with MX5400

Hi I own both L3901 and MX5800, you will love the extra capability of a new MX. I also only put one set of rear remotes and regretted not having two sets. Good luck with your new tractor

    PTO Engine Cutoff Switch

The instructions I listed are for stationary pto running for a MX for a logging winch, pump or chipper. What OP is describing is correct operation of the seat safety switch if you have engaged the pto while sitting on the seat and then try to stand up or exit the tractor. The tractor will shut...

    Snow blower auger question

You should also take a look at WoodMax, nice heavy duty and great performance, I run a SB72 on a L3901, the SB 60 has bigger auger and fan compared to what you are looking at. Also many configuration options.
