    Buying New | KX-040 vs. KX-033 | Compact Excavator

The 040 seems to do well on fuel, I don’t have any stats but I work it for many half days before putting fuel in it. I see you are Ontario based, the cab is real nice for working on cold / humid days. Make sure you buy with the thumb and quick attach. I mainly run mine with a rake as per photo...

    Buying New | KX-040 vs. KX-033 | Compact Excavator

I have a KX040, I purchased last year, enclosed cab, 4 way blade, hydraulic thumb, quick attach mount. I love this machine, I do a certain amount of drain type work but a lot more woodland work, digging out roots and similar. I would not worry about the DPF stuff, I have several tractors with...

    Analysis Paralysis.....Need Help

Congratulations on the new tractor. Your LX2610 should handle your RCR 1860 just fine, it’s only 0.5 pto HP below the quoted 20HP for the cutter, remember these are only guide figures, it really depends on ground speed and what you are cutting.

My tractor didnt come with any components of the 3 point assembly

Salvage looks like a great option, if the cost is reasonable, I suggest that you find a parts diagram so you can be clear on everything you need, including pins and clips. Do you have a manual for your tractor? I believe that the L2501, L3301 and L3901 should all use the same 3pt parts. I have...

    Red, Green or Orange??

How much ground work are you doing? You talk about general tidy up work. What are you doing with the 85 acres of rolling ground? What are you really doing with your new tractor? If you are only doing tidy up and maintenance a MX5400 with cab is a great machine you don't need any more weight or HP.

    Red, Green or Orange??

Take a look at this it compares a Kubota M4-061 to the John Deere 5065E, I think you are jumping a bit in price!

    Red, Green or Orange??

I'm not sure you are comparing like for like, I would suggest going to visit your local Kubota dealer, the weight difference tells that you are not comparing the right Kubota series, maybe you should be looking at Kubota M series not MX.

Advice appreciated: tractor size for 20acres

I have a MX5800 and an L3901, the L 3901 has about 2 HP less at the PTO compared to an L4060. I would not recommend the L4060 using a 6' cutter, I would highly recommend the MX5400 for this size of cutter. I know it's not a simple issue as it depends on ground speed, what you are cutting etc...

My tractor didnt come with any components of the 3 point assembly

Look around online, I also recommend buying the: Telescopic Stabilizer Kit, Part # L8430 - $185 https://www.neatfarms.com/Compact-Tractor-3-Point-Hitch-Kit-CAT-1---BK2?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkYCUr5vl7gIV-gFMCh1eMQevEAQYBCABEgIHafD_BwE

    Source to purchase used implements

Jeremy, I have had good luck in the past with Craigslist for certain buys. It seems activity in tractor attachments has dropped off severely, I'm guessing just due to covid and people not wanting to interact with strangers. I think the attachment market is changing at a rapid pace. A significant...

L2501 HST and Flail Mowers - looking for suggestions

The hydraulic shift option on the flail gives you a lot of adjustment from side to side to allow you to position better in areas such as fence lines, tree lines, buildings, edges and similar. If you read the reviews, users make lots of comments. It is not an expensive option, I would buy it...

Anyone try a Heavy Duty Grapple on Grand L

That’s plenty of counterweight, I use a 650 lb grapple on my MX5800, loaded rear and ballast box, it’s a beast.

    Kubota Bx2660D Front Axle Issue

Google search BX 2660 WSM, a free download is available. Take a look at the front axle section. You will see that a collar holds in the axle in the hub. This should help you solve your issue and understand how to strip, inspect and rebuild.

Seeking Advice for First Tractor (probably B2601)

Some good advice above. My input, consider turf tires, I have an L3901 on turf tires, it does really good in all conditions. If it’s really muddy R1 tires, struggle, maybe you need to let ground dry a little! I recommend front 3rd function and 1 set of rear remotes. They are so useful for many...

L2501 HST and Flail Mowers - looking for suggestions

I would not worry about the HP issue of 19 Vs minimum of 20HP. The important issue will be ground speed and what you are cutting, you can adjust as required. I like WoodMaxx equipment, I have a rear snowblower and their large chipper, great service and support, well made equipment. Are you...

Anyone own both a single and dual lid grapple?

I have two twin lid grapples of different sizes but also use a 2 finger “thumb” on my excavator. All are good for grabbing things, theory says twin lids will hold better for different thickness of materials. My grapples are only 60” wide, not too sure there would be too much difference in single...

    Grapple Rake vs. Bucket?

Take a look at MTL attachments they have a great value 60” twin cylinder root grapple for $999 including delivery. I see they are currently sold out of a number of models including this one. Seems like everything is on back order at the moment. I believe they are US made. This size and type will...

    B2601 3rd function attachments?

I run both tractors and skid loaders, the tractor 3rd function is great for anything with a cylinder on but I really would not consider running any continuous flow skid attachments on my tractor. Typically the flow rate requirement is just too different and I don’t believe small compact tractors...
