    Tractor Dump Trailer Just Arrived

Henro, My need is all on property with 350 acres of mainly woodland to manage. Several factors were important, ground clearance to get over rough ground, minimal width with wheels under the dump bed, trailer is roughly same width as tractor, important when traveling narrow wooded paths and...

    Tractor Dump Trailer Just Arrived

I've got many plans this year for clearing a few areas and also for tidying up many downed trees. In an effort to be more efficient I invested in a small farm dump trailer to fit on the rear drawbar of my tractors. This is a 2 Ton trailer that the manufacturer says is really capable of at least...

    Landscaping Implements

There are a number of lightweight rock buckets, land pride makes one at 230lbs. Wolfman is right that your B series has limitations but I also agree that a scarifier is a good idea. I have the model shown above but use it on a much bigger tractor. A lot depends on your ground conditions. I...

    More goodies ...

Those stump buckets can do some work and make stump extraction possible with a FEL. Sounds like you are going to have a lot of new things to try out.

    Correct Hydraulic oil??

I run a high flow Kubota track loader with large hydraulic attachments, my dealer in Northern Michigan recommends ISO 46 for winter and summer use, I purchased Kubota brand and use it in other hydraulic equipment too like my log splitter.

Just bought a 2002 L4310 - what maintenance needs to be done?

Suggest you have an operators manual and WSM. I would change all filters and fluids so you have a good baseline for future maintenance. Include front axle oil change.

Anyone try a Heavy Duty Grapple on Grand L

Your loader is similar to my LA1065 on my MX5800, it is very capable, you can easily run a 600lbs grapple. Once grapples get beyond the 750lbs weight they are meant for skid steer use. My recommendation is to stick with the 450 to 650 lbs with a 60 or 66” width. There are a lot of options in the...

First Tractor (L3130) - Leaking axle seal (front) + beginner questions.

As the tractor is new to you I would suggest that you change all fluids and filters, that way you have a proper basis for future maintenance. Good luck with your new machine.

Anyone try a Heavy Duty Grapple on Grand L

Take a look at MTL Attachments, they have a large range of affordable grapples. Everything Attachments Wicked model is nice but is expensive. You can comfortably run a 400lb model. Also consider which design of grapple you are looking for and how you plan to use it.

    New Ballast Box

I've got a couple of the Titan ballast boxes, they were great value. I just purchased 50lb bags of gravel and stacked them to the top. They are nice compact rear ballast boxes.

    Skid steer auger

Skid Steer will be running 15-17GPM from a large reservoir and is made to run attachments on the front arms. Hi flow models are 30 - 45 GPM. Tractor is not made to run constant flow hydraulic attachments in the same way, my view is you will struggle with skid steer auger. Tractors use rear PTO...

    Tool Caddy for LX2610SU

Nice job, if you need a little more capacity consider this modification, I copied it and mounted a basket on my tractors, it is so useful. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/rops-carry-all-basket.45730/

    Lift straps

I use straps all the time and have several sets. I normally use them off my forks or my fork frame, I am careful and have never damaged a strap or scratched anything I am lifting with straps. I use them with 3/4" shackles most of the time. A good rated strap is as strong as a chain and I...

    castle nut

Land pride parts manual shows the thread as 24m x2, typical socket size for a nut of this size is 36mm, thread appears normal, righty tightly. Recommended torque for this nut is 450 Ft lb. I’ve worked on a number of older rotary cutters, had some interesting experiences! The nut is always the...

does buying a tractor work like buying a car?

There is little tractor inventory, in many cases machines have to be ordered and may take several months to deliver. Dealers do not need to offer large discounts at this time.

    Roadside trimming

I’m looking to maintain 8 miles of dense forestry trails. Those are interesting options, the problem is they get pricey and you typically need at least an MX tractor to manage the off set weight on the FEL. I was not aware of Brush Tech but contacted the others for pricing. Not sure a tractor...

does buying a tractor work like buying a car?

A backhoe is an expensive add on and in my opinion does not have a lot of capability at the BX level ( sorry BX owners ). I would recommend to rent an excavator instead of buy the backhoe. The BX will maintain your road (box blade or land plane) and will haul your dead trees ( chain on drawbar...

B2601 Top & Tilt, Triple Rear Remotes

I slowly learned each time I purchased a tractor that tractors should ideally have 2 sets of rear remotes, that allows a top and tilt or the chute rotate and chute tilt on a snowblower, I finally got it right with my third tractor. In most cases I can get away with the 2 sets. I guess I could...
