    This Weather Event

A quick follow up on the April 12th hail storm in my area. Many roofs are being replaced, along with 3 of mine. House, storage shed, garage. I was shocked at the cost in today's market, and glad for home owners insurance.

Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

Thank you ! I will make more precise measurements and figure out the ID of the step down in diameter of the filler neck but this one looks like it may work! I will update the thread either way.

Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

Well said! Exactly what I have experienced. I only have the L2501 and the B7100 with little to no other tractor experience. The fuel cap is under the hood on the B7100 which seems to eliminate the crud and debris buildup plus it came with a pre filter. Knock on wood, I have had zero fuel...

Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

Thanks for the suggestions guys! The issue for me is that I want to mitigate contamination of the fuel by the act of opening the fuel cap. I find the design of the cap in relation to the opening in the hood seems to collect all manor of debris and dirt. I try and get in with a paper towel and...

Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

Not sure how much help this may be. I used a dial calipers and got these measurements the best I could in thousandths of a inch. I was not able to measure the inside step diameter that is .825 below the top seating edge for the cap. If I had to guesstimate the step, perhaps .100. I also...

Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

I did a quick search here with out luck. I have a L2501 and find the area around the filler neck and fuel tank cap is a magnet for dust, dirt and debris. I often times rely on friends and family to help with refueling due to the location of the fuel tank filler and find that as helpful as...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

My neighbor next to me at my home has about 3.8 acres which he built a rustic cabin. He has a part time firewood processing business along with sawing/drying rough lumber. Over the weekend we swapped materials and labor. He supplied the materials and labor to build a stout workbench in my...

Can't remove propshaft from gearhead on rotary cutter.....ideas?

I seem to remember that on my King Kutter yoke there was a snap ring. That is what would insure the yoke stayed on the shaft if the shear bolt broke. Is there any chance that that the snap ring is still there but not visible due to the rust etc? That would be an awfully hard pull if indeed it...

Can't remove propshaft from gearhead on rotary cutter.....ideas?

Is the shaft hole drilled/bored clear thru to the u joint side? If so, perhaps a large universal type gear puller would do the trick. Of course the u joint would have to be removed .

    b7100 dynamo

IF not mistaken I think the workshop manual mentions taking the head off when repairing or replacing the dynamo. I assumed when the factory built the engine up this went on before the install of the head. I really did not want to remove the head and replace gasket on a perfectly good running...

    b7100 dynamo

Thanks for the link and your technique of getting the nut started and back on! When I did mine on my B7100 after the required amount of cussing  I sacrificed a cheap 3/8 combination wrench. I had to open up to 10mm, and after grinding half of the wrench away I got the job done. I think I...

    BX 3-Cylinder Turbo?

I am in the minority but personally glad that people are willing to tinker, experiment , customize and modify equipment in the quest for more HP, efficiency etc. I am not sure why as tractor owners we would discourage someone from modding their own equipment. If smart enough to take on these...

Early whitetail browsing by the pond and Sodium Bentonite question

Update on my wildlife watering hole and sodium bentonite experiment . The three photos are what happens to the 3/8 bentonite chips in a water glass and what happens when they get hydrated with water. Its hard for me to qualify a number as to how much swelling these chips achieved. I have read...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Started my day about 3:30 am, got down to my land for opening of spring turkey season. The weather was cold, 33 degrees F when I left the house, windy, overcast and not a good day for gobbling. Did hear some off in the distance, but also heard woodcocks early and ruffed grouse steady, saw 7...

    4WD Tractor History

Interesting reading, thanks for sharing! I do not know much about the Topp - Stewart company history but do know they were early manufactures of 4 wheel drive ag tractors. The company was based in Clintonville Wisconsin which is also the home of FWD which was a pioneer in all wheel drive...

    This Weather Event

Somewhat rare to get hail in central Wisconsin, especially when I compare it to the 19 years that I lived in Missouri. The largest was about the diameter of quarter but most was nickel sized so not too bad. It was intense for a few minutes.
