L2900 Hydraulic Fluid Leak at 3 Point Hitch

Clean it up really good and verify that it's where the leak is. That "seal" is called a "liquid gasket". Basically, silicone. Kubota uses a lot of it as opposed to paper gaskets. You're right, it's not that easy to fix but definitely not impossible. You'll have to remove the ROPS, then the...

    Adjusting track with wheels.

Years ago it was common for people to turn the wheels around to make them wider and more stable. Seen lots of knuckle/kingpin seals leaking, and failed hub bearings and seals. Local kubota guy swore that "widening" them was the root case as they were not designed to handle the extra stresses...

    2011 RTV 500 Low Compression

A new engine is available from Kubota. It's not cheap. IIRC, around $4500. We trade for and re-sell a few 500's a year. They don't bring a lot in this area, as they are not that popular. The Mule 610 is cheaper and does everything the 500 will do, it's easier to work on, and cheaper to...

    BX1850 Steering

I don't remember, but is the 1850 set up the same way as the BX 70 series? I did one of those recently, wasn't too bad. Worst part is the tie rod ends. Would be advisable for the OP to price a new cylinder as opposed to rebuilding the old one + the time it takes, if that's a concern. I don't...

    D1503 engine no compression...huh?

Are there ANY scratches in the bores? What is the ring gap with the ring in the bore? Have you checked the valves and seats yet? Dump a little kerosene or diesel down into a cylinder head port and see if it leaks out of the valve. Spun bearing=lack of lube. Usually also means the crank...

    L3240 with Transmission Issue

GIVE you the tractor? And you haven't gotten it yet?? I'd guess that the clutch splines are toast. Fairly easy (and relatively inexpensive) fix. Assuming the tractor is in decent shape, one with a loader and 4x4 should be worth about $12-$14k. Those are great little tractors!

    BX1850 Steering

steering cylinder leaking internally. Rebuild might fix it.

    zd 18 stranded

I hear this complaint from time to time. If it's the same thing as I usually see, you can install a John Deere starter relay kit, which should alleviate the issue. JD part # AM107421.

    L3400 crankcase vent

it's normal. Bugs can't clog the crankcase vent, well, because it's a CCV system. CCV=closed crankcase vent, meaning the "tube" that comes off the valve cover goes to the intake manifold, where any crankcase fumes would be burnt during normal combustion instead of vented to the atmosphere...

kubota rtv 400ci shutting down in the middle of the day

it's got an electric fuel pump, so it's possible that the filter is plugged. Or the pump could be failing. But you'll need to isolate it by doing a fuel flow test before ordering or even removing the pump for filter inspection. Take the fuel line off and check the flow while cranking the...

ZD321 mower blades will not disengage

Follow the linkage down from the PTO lever to the transmission. Chances are good that the links are either bent or whatever, causing the transmission lever to be moved "over center" causing it to get stuck.

    Work Shop Manuals (WSM)

Interesting story that goes along with this. I had a guy come in and ask me the torque spec, the sequence, wanted the valve adjustment procedure and cam timing procedure. I started to tell him, but decided that he'd probably forget half of it by time he drove home. SO I suggested for him to...

Oil pressure switch and oil pressure D750

Not familiar with that plug, but if it's steel, you can stick a magnet onto the bottom of the oil pan and the plug will just sit near the magnet. Even works on aluminum pans but you have to either glue or epoxy the magnet, and it should be a nice powerful magnet at that.

    BX2660 running hot

And they tell you the surface temperature, and that infared "beam" has to travel through humid sometimes dusty air. They have not been accurate for me. They do well for testing if a thermostat opens or is stuck, checking for a dead cylinder by "shooting" each exhaust manifold runner, etc. I...

    L4330 engine problems

Not all kubota engines are "the same". There's a few different variants, even of the exact same displacement engine. Lot of times the governors and injection pumps can vary from engine to engine depending on what application it's for. Compression ratios can vary. Exhaust an intake...

    Whistling

There's no nut missing. That's the end of the BOLT threads. There's 2 nuts on the other mounting points but the one that's "missing a nut" is a bolt that's threaded in, no nut. Whistle could be many things from exhaust leak to intake leak, etc. The turbo's on these tractors aren't very loud...

    Splitting a L3600 info

Take the dash completely off. Easy to do, but heavy, just a few 8mm bolts at the bottom and 4 at the sides, IIRC. Easy. The GST (or shuttle) shift rod can be a bear. Squirt it down with some good penetrating oil. Remove steering hoses from the controller under the dash. Mark them for...

    Don't trust your Operators Manual

The manuals are written originally in Japanese then translated to English. I call the service manual language "Jinglish" for a reason. Some call it Japanenglish. Weird thing about Japanese language. Or maybe English. You can take a Japanese phrase and translate it to English. Then...

B2100 cranks and cranks won't start

Do a voltage drop test. Take your digital volt-ohm meter, put one probe on the positive battery POST (not the cable clamp) and the other on the starter big terminal. Have someone turn the engine over with the key. Should see less than 1v drop. Much more than that, your battery cable is junk...
