    FEL drops when engine off

Kubota's maximum leakdown rate is 2" per hour, measured at the cylinder (pin to pin). There is no pressure on the valve while the engine is running with this type hydraulic system. Pressure only builds when one of the spools is moved away from center. Probably a leaking cylinder, internally...

Successful Ways to Advertise to get Tractor Work

Is your area flooded with folks who do the same work? Out here, tractors are everywhere. Every "country" homeowner has one (even the city folks with more than 1/2 acre will call it a farm and buy a 30hp tractor). And along with that, they'll almost all of them do work for others. It's very...

    All metric ?

Some of the loader bolts are SAE. Generally speaking, the loader bolts that are screwed into the tractor are all metric, but many of the bolts that hold the loader's parts together are SAE. Or that's the way a lot of it used to be, may all be metric now on the LA525 FEL. To my knowledge...

    Repairing a BX24 Loader Bucket

Thank you for sharing. I have the same issue with my MF 1145, FEL bucket is trashed/worn out. I may tackle it in the same manner if I can't find a better used bucket.

    Error P0336 L3901

That is every manufacturer's way. JD included. It's not just your tractor, it's every single diesel engine that makes more than 25hp, including diesel pickup trucks, diesel power units to run irrigation pumps, generators, big trucks, etc. That sounds more like a seat switch "issue". The...

    HST filter service

If you took it in for a 50 hour service, and the manual calls for it to be replaced at 50 hours, then yes, they should have. I wonder why they didn't? Forget? Cost savings? Yes, just change it. It's easy but it's usually on pretty tight. Most of the originals, I find it easier to use...

    Z700 stuck on FULL

Daren that was my thought too. The tank is shaped odd, exactly like the BX and even the standard L series (L3200/3800 especially). As I recall, they'd use a few gallons of fuel before the gauge would move. Then it moved quickly, or seemed like it because of how long it ran on the first couple...

B7500 wont rev past 2,000 rpm

Years ago I worked on an L3000, IIRC, had similar issue. The governor has a pair of springs that pull the pump rack. One of those springs was broken. Replaced, all was well. I think it would run about 2100 RPM max but it wasn't low on power that the owner complained about, just said it...

    Fan Blade L2350

The radiator fan is easy to replace....getting TO the bolts, however, is not. Likely they're doing it the "right" way, removing the radiator, which is a little time consuming. Time=money, especially if the labor rate is close to $100/hr. It can take a seasoned tech a couple hours to R&R the...

    HST oil

Oils are like pickup trucks......everyone has their own subjective opinion of what they like, and you can't tell 'em any different. Working for a dealer, I can tell you that we see FAR less issue out of tractors that use the recommended fluids....I can't say that the off-brands cause any...

    Hard starting B3350SU

I also work for a dealer....nary a single problem out of the B3350's. Not one.

    Timing Window Cover ...

I use the EOIC method. EOIC=exhaust opening, intake closing. IOW, when the exhaust valve just starts to open, adjust the intake valve's clearance. Then rotate the engine in it's direction of rotation (CW from the front normally) until the intake valve opens, then when it's almost closed...

    Extended Warranty - Worth It?

Putting myself in the situation, I don't think I'd invest in extended warranty. KTAC insurance, a different story....I'd keep it as long as I owned the tractor ;)

    G1800 wont start

You will have to do some leg work to find where the voltage drop is. This is very common with the old G series. Could be one or more of the following: bad connection in the harness somewhere. bad combination box bad PTO switch bad brake switch bad ignition switch or...worst case, bad wiring...

    Repaint?

If you just want to make the orange plastic shiny again, it can be done without a single drop of paint. Little polishing compound and a cheap parts store buffing wheel that goes in a handheld drill. Makes them look brand new. I wish I had a before and after picture of a T1560 I did recently.

Any need to bleed air after transmisson oil change

The hydrualic oil and transmission oil are one in the same on that tractor (and the HST's as well). It all resides in the transmission case/sump. There is no bleeding procedure. Refill with proper amount of oil and you're done.

    L3130 HST PTO Pipe replacement

Reminds me of replacing one of the hydraulic pipes on a B series tractor. There are 2 ways to do it. The correct way, and the shortcut way. The shortcut way is to pull just enough stuff out of the way to be able to bend the pipe around the HST links, but in bending it, eventually it will fail...

Tractor step broke and fel is clicking

what is that? B2301? Or? haven't seen it before, nor have I heard of it, but I'll keep an eye out for the step breakage. Why is it spot welded? There is nothing else to weld it to. No big thick 100lb frame bracket like on an M series.

    BX24 grill in engine shroud.

To my knowledge, Kubota does not offer the individual grills separate from the entire lower hood. If they do, I cant' find the part number for it. Then the fan...easy fix. The first one I did I wanted to invent new words for Kubota. It's not that bad once you find the "easiest" way.
