Power steering will turn the wheels to the left but will not always come back to the right. The steering wheel will turn but wheels will not. After a few turns back and forth it will finally turn.
I don't remember, but is the 1850 set up the same way as the BX 70 series? I did one of those recently, wasn't too bad. Worst part is the tie rod ends.
Would be advisable for the OP to price a new cylinder as opposed to rebuilding the old one + the time it takes, if that's a concern. I don't recall them being super expensive to replace them.
