Finished moving my cull logs down closer to the house. Took me another hour today to finish. I had fun with the long one that is in the front. I should have cut it in half, but I thought to myself,"You can make it".
So what are you gonna do with that long White Oak log??I had fun with the long one that is in the front.
I buy casters from the local Norco welding shop. They work great on the two steel carts I made for the Kubota generator and Jon Dow fuel tank.Built my overkill pallets. Just need to order casters. These things are HEAVY. In hindsight, I could have gone with 1x6 for the top but it's ok. I am missing three 3" deck screws on the middle planks, package count was just shy of what I needed.
Any suggestions on casters? The ones at HF were junk. I was looking at these but they are on the pricey side.

The generator is around 900lb but the cart is at least 150lb. The Jon Dow fuel tank when full is also around 900lb but the cart for that is probably 200lb.Thanks, what size/spec? What is the generator weight? My max load currently including pallet will be roughly 700-900lbs. For now I plan on setting the BB on there and the bucket when not in use and one of the two pallets will store the forks as well.
Appreciate it, yeah you got some heavy duty ones. I'll have to go back and look for higher cap then since my pallets will see similar max loads. The generator is around 900lb but the cart is at least 150lb. The Jon Dow fuel tank when full is also around 900lb but the cart for that is probably 200lb.
I bought DH casters, C-MHD6PNS and C-MHD6PNR rated at 300+lb each IIRC .... oops, 1,000lb each according to the website!!

I would get casters with cast iron wheels, as the plastic wheels invariably get flat spots making them a pain to move.Appreciate it, yeah you got some heavy duty ones. I'll have to go back and look for higher cap then since my pallets will see similar max loads.
For what they will be doing, I think the 2x6 was the wise choice. They look well made.Built my overkill pallets. Just need to order casters. These things are HEAVY. Thanks, just ordered these based on your advice and @mcmxi these are cast with poly tread with ball bearings. 4 locking, 4 regular swivel.I would get casters with cast iron wheels, as the plastic wheels invariably get flat spots making them a pain to move.
Much appreciated - I spent way too much time and money on themFor what they will be doing, I think the 2x6 was the wise choice. They look well made.
Maybe the cheap ones, but I've had no problems with phenolic resin casters being under heavy loads. They're very tough and very durable. But it looks like @radas has found some good casters that will no doubt give him years of excellent service.I would get casters with cast iron wheels, as the plastic wheels invariably get flat spots making them a pain to move.
Yeah phenolic resin is tough, some brake caliper mfg. use that material for pistons as well - much more demanding of an application and they hold up well. I'm sure the composition of the resin for casters may be different, but phenolic casters are just as if not more expensive than polyurethane ones are and good casters don't come cheapMaybe the cheap ones, but I've had no problems with phenolic resin casters being under heavy loads. That's a beaut! I am a fan of Woods implements. More so than EA as their products seem on-par price wise and heavier duty (no offense to any EA fans).I bought a Woods RB72.50 rear blade today. It’s primary function will be for snow removal along with the loader. I thought about going for a legit front plow but just don’t think it’s necessary. This blade is a bit overkill for my plans but that’s how I roll.

I pick it up tomorrow along with a new deck belt for my Scag Turf Tiger which I snapped today.
Better to get a better one, than to fix a lighter one after you hook it on a tree root. You can never go wrong with quality.I bought a Woods RB72.50 rear blade today. Thank you for being a good neighbor.Headed out shortly to clean up storm damage. We had a huge oak fall across our road while I was up north. A truck at 3a.m. Plowed into it and totaled the truck. It Took the county 3 days to push it to the ditch. I don’t think anyone was hurt from what I was told. So this morning its the Kubota for the cleanup. I plan to cut up in chunks and use the grapple to haul large pieces to a clearing to saw for fire wood when it gets colder. It’s going to be a fun morning. Saws are gassed and sharpened and ready to work. It’s going to be a fun day!!!!!!!
My thoughts exactly.Better to get a better one, than to fix a lighter one after you hook it on a tree root. You can never go wrong with quality.
