In case you didn't notice, I plug welded the 1 1/2" tube to the 2" angle on the front side to give it more strength. If you enlarge the picture, you can see the welds.
Did not notice at all, it was an orange blur from afar šŸ˜ looks stout. What's the heaviest weight you've suspended on it?

Took the day off from work and went out to the farm and did some mowing. Forecast is for rain over the weekend and I figured that I needed to get things mowed before we had more rain.

Here you go. I fabbed it up out of some 2" and 1 1/2" square 11ga tube, 2" X 1/4" bar stock, 3/4" square bar stock and some 2" angle that I had laying around. I already had the clevis installed in the bucket, so I bought a turnbuckle at TSC to secure it to the bucket. With the clevis, it puts very little strain on the cutting edge, so it won't get bent.
It's really handy for lifting items that aren't too heavy, and I use it pretty often.

Thanks for the extra info and pictures. I think you did quite a nice job with the way it mounts. I like things that only take a pin or in this case a turnbuckle to lock it in place.

Last week I had my Champion Red Oak tree to fall and of course it fell across the road.
IMG_2552.JPG

Yup, a mess so today was clearing the road day.
IMG_2585.JPG

Sorta like eating an elephant.
IMG_2586.JPG

But the U25 and the M4900 Kubotas saved the day.
IMG_2587.JPG

Chainsaw, pull it away, and chainsaw again.
IMG_2588.JPG

Here is how it looked when we stopped for lunch.
IMG_2590.JPG

We are making good progress.
IMG_2591.JPG

We left that limb that was about 15' off of the ground and hung in the Sweetgum tree on the left. There was no need to take any risk. If the Sweetgum tree breaks, I will deal with it then.

I used it to set the 10KW generator into the frame of the genset I built. It weighs about 150 pounds.

My backhoe attachment arrived a few weeks ago, which was just a few days after my ankle surgery. Iā€™ve been looking out the window at it. Finally crawled up there and gave it a whirl today. Iā€™m very pleased. And definitely have some learning to do.

I cheaped out on the hydraulic thumb and just got a manual thumb. Helped me justify buying a grapple. But very first use I was annoyed haha. Tell me more about this, did you do it yourself?

Well I really put the ole Bx through its paces yesterday. A client had let his backfill overgrow in weeds, grasses, etc. to about the height of the seat in some cases and yesterday proved that a flail mower or brush hog would pay dividends. Luckily he was ok with the choppy cut since the belly mower just flattened and ā€œthinnedā€ out the brush but big reason to look for a different mower type for these applicationsā€¦ needless to say itā€™s time to sharpen my blades after 4.5acres of brush cutting lol

but thank god for speed control on the BX2380ā€¦ huge upgrade I didnā€™t think I needed until now.

yep. Plumbed the rear remotes so I could have a TNT set up and this for the BH. I quickly became tired of hopping off every few minutes because of the fixed manual thumb. Up where I am we have rocksā€¦lotsa rocks of all sizesā€¦

I figured out the throw I wanted for the ram and bought that and set it up with the hoses. Been using it alot for many years without any issues and a true time saver.

Figured out which BB I wanted to buy after many hours of research. Originally I was set on buying the EA and the decided to do additional research. Basically I wanted the heaviest 54-60" BB I could get my hands on without modification to serve as adequate rear ballast and for grading/scraping activity.

I decided on a woods BSS60. Called around to all the local dealers and nobody had anything smaller than a 65" in stock which is overkill for my LX. I lucked out and found a local dealer with a BSS54 woods BB in stock that is STOUT. Weighs shy of 500lbs and had a reinforced top link area with 4 blades. Got it for just a hair over $1k. Also decided to cancel my EA Pallet Fork order that was still at least 50 days out and purchased a land pride pfl1242 fork assembly which is more than enough for my LX as well. All in, I was less than $2k OTD and didn't have to wait (except for having to wait until my truck arrives next week so I can pick them up).

Good call! I have the 60ā€ Woods on my LX. It is great ballast and handles whatever grading/leveling I need with ease. Unless I need the 3 point for something else ot is always on.

Earlier this week, did a buncha stuff to the BX. I did the 50 hr. service- oil/oil filter/air filter /fuel filter change. Greased loader and MMM(which was removed). Swapped the blades on deck to "Predator" blades(same as the Gator blades). Quite pleased with how little buildup there was on the deck after 9 mowings, cleaned it off and sprayed some fluid film on one spot where paint is off. Added the 2" wheel spacers I got off eBay( 5x114.3, 71.5mm center bore). Added 2 Harbor Freight LED spotlights to the lower part of ROPS bar, was able to use the top hole that is in both sides, had to get a M8x50mm bolt-went with flange bolt and nut to secure the brackets. I tapped into the rear tractor light wiring for the LED's, I used those line tap connectors where it connects over the wire,so no cutting/splicing was necessary. Then I did the fuel filter housing side mount relocation to get rid of that PITA dinky filter underneath tractor. Custom made my bracket and painted it Allis Chalmers Gloss orange, as all Tractor Supply stores in WNY are out of the Majic Kubota orange, I forgot to check Runnings though. It's just a tad bit darker. Tried to figure out why my MMM linkage gets hung up if it goes up all the way-it only comes down about even with tractor frame, in order for it to come down to hook MMM up I have to give it a good yank, then it comes free. If MMM is mounted, it goes up and down fine.... 503FB84D-F7BA-4F50-A6B1-E511591AB776.jpeg 0762D8E1-B71B-4EAA-AA1C-ABE47C593E26.jpeg 95995E0D-69EA-41DF-9F4C-6320F5CB6074.jpeg 86841096-9704-43AE-B090-5705BEDEF50A.jpeg 0DDE7E15-2B8B-4A82-809E-D55DDFE9B96C.jpeg BDE55111-1B75-44DF-8602-E3D593F70CAA.jpeg B41A086B-6C5A-4FF6-8DB3-A4AD0C38BDEB.jpeg

I searched high and low and the Woods was by far the heaviest BB I could find that had local dealers in my area. EA charges quite a bit for theirs and I think their only selling point above and beyond the Woods are the serrated tines (seemed gimmicky to me tbh as most rippers/subsoilers do not need serrations to get the job done) and the EA weighs less. I also didn't want to wait 4-6 months. What'd you pay for your BB if you don't mind me asking? Feel free to PM me if not comfortable sharing on here.

yesterday the box blade was used one more time on my future north side lawn. I ripped it shallowly then smoothed it by extending the top link all the way. Seeded it, raked it over manually and set up two tripod sprinklers that cover the area perfectly.
Being the summertime I can't let it dry out so watered it for the 1st time about 45 minutes for a good soaking. Last night it not only poured but we had hail. I was afraid to see how much I would have to reseed but all was good:

I'm going to put a stone mulch bed along the house extending past the ac units and plant a few 'deer resistant' plants.

Yeah, I donā€™t think the EA has any advantage over the Woods except I think they use an easier adjustment system for the tines instead of the pins but I donā€™t find the pin system to be a problem and the Woods weighs 130 pounds more so that was a wash and then some. Oh, they call it ā€œwickedā€ so it must be cooler somehow.

It was right at $1k out the door but that was pre-craziness. Iā€™m looking for their heavy duty rear blade (72ā€) for snow use this winter. A semi-local dealer is expecting a few soon. I think that with the bucket will easily handle my winter chores.

"wicked" + serrations = great marketing gimmick lol

You got a hell of a price compared to today's pricing. That 54 I bought was dealer listed for $1900 IIRC (which is way higher than tractorhouse) but I'm glad I got something closer to pre covid pricing.

Do you have any photos of the pins for the blades? I wonder if McMaster has a better solution.

What pins do you speak of? For the tines? Same as yours Iā€™m sure.

Yeah the tine pins. I haven't picked up my unit yet (picking it up in a couple weeks when I pick up my truck from the dealer). I'm sure there's a better alternative out there.
