Bushhogged today.

I have the Bush Hog 3008 set up in a semi-lift configuration. Speeco Cat3 Quick Hitch to adjust the cutting height and three trailing wheels to avoid high centering

Replaced my gear shift boot today. $14.97 from eBay with no tax and free shipping. That beats $32 from Kubota. I got the old one from Kubota in October, 2019.

Nice! Now if you could show how your pole attaches to the bucket that would be nice too. I was thinking about making something like that and looks like a good idea!

Here you go. I fabbed it up out of some 2" and 1 1/2" square 11ga tube, 2" X 1/4" bar stock, 3/4" square bar stock and some 2" angle that I had laying around. I already had the clevis installed in the bucket, so I bought a turnbuckle at TSC to secure it to the bucket. With the clevis, it puts very little strain on the cutting edge, so it won't get bent.
It's really handy for lifting items that aren't too heavy, and I use it pretty often.

Man, you must have finally received that tax refund (and all the interest they added on)!!!
😂 How'd you know?

Yeah I finally got it, 1 year and 2 months after filing a 1040x, they sent me my dependent credit balance owed with a whopping $100 of interest 😂

I also sold another vehicle to Carvana last week and took advantage of their negative equity purchasing scheme 😁

That's neat, looks relatively easy to fab up too with metal scraps. Nice work!

In case you didn't notice, I plug welded the 1 1/2" tube to the 2" angle on the front side to give it more strength. If you enlarge the picture, you can see the welds.

We had a fair amount of rain recently to settle the dust, so I rotary cut about 5 acres around the house and outbuildings.

Did not notice at all, it was an orange blur from afar 😁 looks stout. What's the heaviest weight you've suspended on it?

Took the day off from work and went out to the farm and did some mowing. Forecast is for rain over the weekend and I figured that I needed to get things mowed before we had more rain.

Thanks for the extra info and pictures. I think you did quite a nice job with the way it mounts. I like things that only take a pin or in this case a turnbuckle to lock it in place.

Last week I had my Champion Red Oak tree to fall and of course it fell across the road.
IMG_2552.JPG

Yup, a mess so today was clearing the road day.
IMG_2585.JPG

Sorta like eating an elephant.
IMG_2586.JPG

But the U25 and the M4900 Kubotas saved the day.
IMG_2587.JPG

Chainsaw, pull it away, and chainsaw again.

Here is how it looked when we stopped for lunch.
IMG_2590.JPG

We are making good progress.
IMG_2591.JPG

We left that limb that was about 15' off of the ground and hung in the Sweetgum tree on the left. There was no need to take any risk. If the Sweetgum tree breaks, I will deal with it then.

I used it to set the 10KW generator into the frame of the genset I built. It weighs about 150 pounds.

My backhoe attachment arrived a few weeks ago, which was just a few days after my ankle surgery. I’ve been looking out the window at it. Finally crawled up there and gave it a whirl today. I’m very pleased. And definitely have some learning to do.

Get yourself this mod…and you will thank me later…

I cheaped out on the hydraulic thumb and just got a manual thumb. Helped me justify buying a grapple. But very first use I was annoyed haha. Tell me more about this, did you do it yourself?

Well I really put the ole Bx through its paces yesterday. A client had let his backfill overgrow in weeds, grasses, etc. to about the height of the seat in some cases and yesterday proved that a flail mower or brush hog would pay dividends. Luckily he was ok with the choppy cut since the belly mower just flattened and “thinned” out the brush but big reason to look for a different mower type for these applications… needless to say it’s time to sharpen my blades after 4.5acres of brush cutting lol

but thank god for speed control on the BX2380… huge upgrade I didn’t think I needed until now.

yep. Plumbed the rear remotes so I could have a TNT set up and this for the BH. I quickly became tired of hopping off every few minutes because of the fixed manual thumb. Up where I am we have rocks…lotsa rocks of all sizes…

I figured out the throw I wanted for the ram and bought that and set it up with the hoses. Been using it alot for many years without any issues and a true time saver.

Figured out which BB I wanted to buy after many hours of research. Originally I was set on buying the EA and the decided to do additional research. Basically I wanted the heaviest 54-60" BB I could get my hands on without modification to serve as adequate rear ballast and for grading/scraping activity.

I decided on a woods BSS60. Called around to all the local dealers and nobody had anything smaller than a 65" in stock which is overkill for my LX. I lucked out and found a local dealer with a BSS54 woods BB in stock that is STOUT. Weighs shy of 500lbs and had a reinforced top link area with 4 blades. Got it for just a hair over $1k. Also decided to cancel my EA Pallet Fork order that was still at least 50 days out and purchased a land pride pfl1242 fork assembly which is more than enough for my LX as well. All in, I was less than $2k OTD and didn't have to wait (except for having to wait until my truck arrives next week so I can pick them up).

Good call! I have the 60” Woods on my LX. It is great ballast and handles whatever grading/leveling I need with ease. Unless I need the 3 point for something else ot is always on.
