Nice thread and pictures Majicman. I have built a lot of buildings with rough sawn, full dimension lumber. Great to work with contrary to what many people think. People have become too soft nowadays to work with rough sawn lumber. They expect each piece to be exactly perfect with the next one and don’t want to hurt their hands with splinters. Around here, there are lots of houses and barns built with rough sawn lumber going back 100-200 years that will probably outstand many modern built homes. About 4 years ago I had a guy come in and saw out 4,400 bf of hemlock I cut to build my new maple sugar house. It was a lot of fun helping and my sugar house came out great.
