    Bagger for BX2380

My thought, as well. I have the Kubota bagger and am quite happy with the performance. The Cyclone unit most likely has more suction at the expense of additional noise & maintenance. Still, clippings and Fall maple leaves are easily handled by the Kubota unit. As for mounting and removal.... I...

    Garden tractor with locking differential

Heck, I'll throw my 2 cents in. A locking rear differential will help SOME. You have two tires on the ground rotating at the speed you have decided on. Adding 4WD will add another one or two wheels/tires doing the same thing depending on how the front differential is set up. That's a plus...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

As mentioned, the greater concern is the leverage it will generate.

    My BX23S Build

Back dragging with the Piranha works fine. With the bucket tipped forward, it will leave furrows but it also helps break up material and get it moving. With the bucket level, you are using the square-edge on the back of the bar, leaving a nice smooth finish. Just my opinion but, I believe the...

    My BX23S Build

Consider a Piranha Tooth Bar instead of the bolt-on straight edge. Tires? Turfs don't look near as neat as the Industrials. However, they are the easiest on the yard and for sure better in the snow if you will be running without chains. They are even pretty good in the dirt until you add water...

    ? on rear blade length

Skid shoes are supposed to keep the blade at a certain height. Some guys like them better than others. Ideally, they ride on a surface firm enough to support the weight of the blade. Prime examples would be asphalt, concrete, and frozen ground. They are just another tool that CAN be used but...

    new bx mower advice

You must have smoooooth ground. I can't cut anything at full speed in high range without beating the dog-snot out of man and machine.

    Balls of Steel

I can't see them, either. I bet they are 'this' big, or nearly so! :)

What kind of chainsaw you have?

Two Stihl saws, a rear handle and a top handle plus a Stihl trimmer. Going to say they are 16, 5 and 18 years old, respectively. As mentioned above, between Stihl and Husqvarna I would go with the one that is best supported in your area. I have needed very little support but, it sure is nice to...

    Learning to Weld

The class seems expensive, as others have mentioned. At my age, I certainly could be out of touch with how much tuition should be. Having said that.... It is very helpful to have a formal foundation to work from. If you choose to forego classroom training, try trading labor at a machine shop...

    Lower Radiator Hose Heater

Confirmed, hose is 1" ID, or the metric equivalent. I used a Kat's, sold as NAPA # 16400. That is 1" inlet/outlet with a 400 watt element. Such a tiny motor, it warms the coolant and block in an easy hour @ Oregon temp's. Figure less than two hours if you are somewhere with bitter conditions...

    Lower Radiator Hose Heater

My best recollection is that 1" is correct. I will try to remember to measure and confirm this evening.

    BX1880 Power

I varied the throttle setting but stayed at the higher end for the first 50 hours. Now I mow at WOT.

    BX1880 Power

Something's not right, here. I have a BX1870, 54" deck and use the Kubota PTO driven bagger. Even in the Fall, picking up wet leaves in a steep yard and sporting almost 150 lbs in front suitcase weights, my RPM never varies more than maybe 150rpms. I have even over filled it and plugged it up a...

    Possible hydrolock? Repair procedure?

Awesome! An engine oil and filter change is in order. Depending on the terrain you were on, liquid ballast and/or rear wheel spacers may need to be considered to limit this to a 'one-time-experience'.

Sales Tax on Out of State Tractor Purchases

I don't doubt it, on your' side of the Cascades. On the East Side, our population density is so low, it would be a waste of time. We MIGHT have a total of three people/year haul their own across the line that would actually owe this tax.

    Possible hydrolock? Repair procedure?

Sorry to say, this thread is from 2 1/2 years ago. That being said, we have a customer that recently 'soft-rolled' his new (Green) compact tractor in a ditch. Tractor now has less than 150 hours and a brand new motor. I believe in his case, it starved for oil while still running. If I were you...

    Looking at either a L5060 or M5660SUHD

If you have heavy, unbroken ground, make sure you have adequate weight/traction/HP to pull a 3-btm plow. Do you know what size bottoms are on the moldboard?

Has anyone ever had this problem

With no knowledge of my own, I agree with your glass guy. A tight cab would not explain it to me. We have had several tractors through the years that were so air-tight, you had/have to slam the doors to get them to latch. Never lost a window due to that issue.
