Chrissy, you are a wonderful inspiration to me!

    Snowblower/quick attach lifting question. 1860g

Sorry, OrangeinMN, I'm not understanding what you're describing. I'm only piping up because so many folks have read your post and not commented; maybe some pics of what you're trying to figure out would help those of us who aren't intimately familiar with the issue you're having.

Need to make a drag, or buy a harrow

Oh, man! I never thought of that -- and I bought a landscaper's rake last spring from TreeStuff, which was one of the best hand tools I've got. That would be great for my mess! ... But I think I'd only need it a year or so... <sigh> Anyway, Wolfie, you scored another hit; thanks a bunch!

B7100 with a slight mechanical issue.

Did you make the box out of screen, or with a screen bottom, and perhaps screen top too? Details, please, found us noobs who haven't gotten into blasting yet! :o

best way to cut around pond

A sickle-bar mower would be the least expensive, I think. However, a rig like Bulldog has would be more flexible. And Tooljunkie has a good point if you need to watch the mower while maintaining your resolution to not wind up in the drink: hang a sickle-bar mower (or some such) on the front, and...

New B6200 user - getting Hyraulics working

It is reasonable to leave the machine outside: and to expect it to start, and to operate at 20F. I don't know of anyone who leaves their machines outside and can't get them going, even at -40F (though with motor heater and other aids). I agree with your surmise: you prolly didn't properly drain...

    Looking for some ideas

That's a great idea! And make the second holes big enough to get a socket to drive the bolt. Or, better, use carriage head bolts so the shovel and rake handles don't bang on them when you put them in the tube. I recommend against drilling into the FEL arms, and as well, the ROPS. Putting a pipe...

Oh, that's a nice place! And it's level, how nice!

Need to make a drag, or buy a harrow

BS, HN has a great idea (for a nut)! That Piranha bar really works great at back-dragging. I know it's a PITA to drag, dodging trees and keeping track of the load, but it should be only once-in-a-lifetime.

Need to make a drag, or buy a harrow

That's my need. I just want my yard to stop washing down the hill, exposing the roots of the trees I want, and leaving all those pines and cedars. Have you decided what grass you'll use? (I realize our climates are so different that your choice might not be possible here.)

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Bluegill, if yours was that bad and out of warranty, you might take the same course. I know that many here would, particularly if they understood that just because a warranty has expired does not necessarily mean that the problem won't be fixed -- particularly under U.S. consumer protection...

Need to make a drag, or buy a harrow

I'm interested in the advice you get and wish I had some to offer. I'm having trouble envisioning your DIY harrow; do you mean wrapping chain-link around a log and trail a length of fence behind? I've read of some folk who've had a bit of success with that, and I expect you can find posts about...

    Dialing 911 on Cell Phone

Well, yes, I'm one who loves and embraces it (as eagerly as a Ludite is able). And to your criticism: in that emergency situation, weren't you (we) better off than before GPS, to say nothing of RADAR? Or do you think (or know) that you might be better off without certain technologies?

Found this spring under my B3300SU

Hey, if I didn't pipe up with my dumb answers, what would you do for a lowest common denominator? And Dpop, don't believe him! There is one, and only one, dumb question: the question that doesn't get asked!

    B7100 hydrostatic transmission screen question

Crum! I saw your note on the metal in your rebuild saga but I didn't notice you pulled the big pieces out with a magnet. I expected somebody would pipe up because I've seen many comments about metal found in the screens. I suggest you PM Service Dept Vic and NIW, just in case they don't see the...

    Bench starting a B7100HST engine

Chrissy, I'm enjoying your posts and the great pics you include. 1: You only need amperage for the glow plugs and the starter. It might be easiest to hook jumper cables to the block and the glow plug closest to the switch (I think I've seen NIW refer to it as #3). Give it enough time to warm...

    Kubota B5100D parts..

The 3-point hitch (we call it "3PH") does go down pretty slowly. The pump pushes it up, and the fluid is released to let it go down. So the 3PH will go up pretty fast, according to engine speed, and will "drift" down. If you put a load on it (example: stand on it) it will go faster. Also, there...

    Silencer forward or upward?

You silly old man! I teach you everything I know and you *still* don't know nuthin'! If it's pointing forward and they can hear the warning shot, it ain't on properly. But more important, why are you wasting ammo? Don't! President Osama is directing BATF to start banning legal ammo: Associated...

Built a quick attach front lifting plate this week

Great idea, great implementation! I'm puzzled: it looks like your bucket doesn't mount to that plate; must you take the plate off to use the bucket? If so, as heavy as that plate looks, how in the world to you manage it? I've been thinking of putting a quick-attach rig on my B219, and your...

    Dialing 911 on Cell Phone

Captain, thanks for making me aware of your feelings of vulnerability. It's unfortunate that I had to hear you say it, it's so obvious. Actually, it isn't a mistake; it's a carefully orchestrated effort to thwart the efforts of the gun nuts to remain armed in spite of our kind and protective...
