First try at repairing a cylinder need a little help

A quick answer, if it's a complete kit, all orings, seals, and wear bands should be included. The ring on the Piston with the angle slit is the wear band. It will open enough to pull off the end of the Piston. They're fairly tough so unless you really pull on it, it will snap back. The seal...

    Increase hydraulic GPM for attachment

What about changing the motor on the mixer instead? You may lose some torque, so mix a little smaller batches. Would be a lot cheaper and easier than messing with the tractor. Just my two cents.

Any way to increase rollback angle on bucket?

The previous owner had converted from pin to ssqa on mine. He must not have read the label on the plate that showed the angle from the bottom of the bucket to the ssqa plate. It was just welded on the flatest part of the bucket. Hence it lost about 20 degrees roll back, it should be 45 deg...

    Brother Gearheads

One more thing I'd check, to be sure it's the coil. If it's a small 2 stroke, it probably has an external coil around the flywheel similar to chainsaws. Disconnect the small wire from it and check for spark again. That wire is to shut it off only by grounding it, it's possible the switch went...

one hot water heater.. two buildings?

My first thought is outdoor boilers, they have heavily insulated lines running to the building they heat. But the down side is that the water is always circulating. Your senerio the water could lay for extended periods at a time, you might need even more insulation to keep it from freezing up...

    Backhoe & 3Pt Hitch

Welcome to the forum Wrick. I'm not sure how similar mine would be. It's a bigger cousin to yours, an L48TLB. Being that is has a dedicated sub frame for the backhoe, which makes it a lot more solid, it also mounts closer to the rear end so you only have one seat. So to answer your question, no...

    All hydraulic cylinders leaking

Are they leaking around the rods or the hoses/fittings? I'm just throwing a few ideas out there. -The wrong oil is used, or it's contaminated, possibly with water. Water would mess things up with the freeze thaw cycles we've had this winter. I don't think the wrong hydraulic oil would effect...

Trying to find a leak pictures

I've never looked close enough under my tractor, would those bolts go through the case or in to cast blind holes? If they're through, the oil could be leaking down the threads. There is a special loc-tite for wet bolts that seals more than holds the bolt, can't remember the number right now...

    B7100 PTO Chipper question

Zogman, if you're still looking for a wood chipper, keep an eye on Ritchie Bros auctions. I've seen the 4" go for $550-850 USD, up here anywhere from $950-2200 CDN. I bought one last fall but haven't found the time to try it yet, soon though. They look like a wallingstien knock off, but...

    Balls of Steel

A guy at work forges knives as a hobby. He'll use bearing steel sandwiched between 2 layers of softer metal (don't remember what type). When it's finished and polished you see the bearing steel is about 1\16" thick, just as the cutting edge. He's says any more that it would be too brittle. Holds...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Jryser, have you considered or tried loading your tractor backwards? Then the loader could be set down and strapped. That makes me nervous seeing the pirana bar over the back end of your truck. I've seen what the bars can do to trees, I'd hate to see what they can do to sheet metal and a tonneu...

    Grapple help needed

Stomper, I feel your pain. Ive been on the east coast for 5 years. Its even worse to find stuff and when I do, it's a lot more $$$ than it was back in Ontario. Not sure if you follow Ritchie Bros auctions or not. A lot of the new ssqa stuff they carry is made over seas but as long as not too...

    Landpride snow blower shear pins?

FYI. 8mm bolt is less than .003" larger than 5/16". Standard sizes may be easier for you to find depending on your local suppliers. I can't recommend a specific grade bolt, but I can pass on what I've been told. If you use to low of grade, soft bolt, it won't 'snap' when needed, it will smear...

Those 7 Dreaded words you never want to ask yourself, “What The He** Did I Do Now?”

I'm assuming from the pictures, that you've bent one of the ssqa plates from the other. Like SDK said, it's hard to see what's wrong. So that should make it easier to fix. Check out a recent thread on how others have done it. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31779...

    WTB - L48 3 point hitch

I've bought a wood chipper and pick it up in a month, so now I NEED the arms! Open to suggestions.... What other arms might fit? Or does it even matter about the actual sizes? I'm to the point now, I may just try the generic arms from TSC. They're straight with no bends, still not sure but I...

    Kubota preferred as aircraft tugs

Thanks Helomech. When I read that they land on the dolly, I assumed the tug would have to hold it in place. The dolly doesn't look very heavy to hold itself in place, even with chocks. Nice BAP :)
