Hi Everyone, brand new to the forum. I purchased my first used 2006 BX23MLB mid last year and have been having a great time using it on my property. I recently purchased a 3Pt Hitch and plan to try to take the backhoe off and put the 3Pt hitch on today. Just for fun! My question will probably be obvious when I do it, but since I haven't yet I'm curious.... Can I leave the 3Pt hitch on and reattach the backhoe, or does the hitch need to come back off for the backhoe?

Next project...buy a rock rake and start cleaning up some soil areas where I previously excavated. Tips?

Thanks,
Wrick

Welcome to the forum Wrick.

I'm not sure how similar mine would be. It's a bigger cousin to yours, an L48TLB. Being that is has a dedicated sub frame for the backhoe, which makes it a lot more solid, it also mounts closer to the rear end so you only have one seat. So to answer your question, no you can t leave the 3 point hitch arms mounted. Not sure how many models Kubota has done it on, but mine has pins to mount all the arms and pieces to when not being used (some on the loader post, some underneath on the sub frame).
There should also be a small locking tab for the lift leaver, to keep it locked down when you have the hoe mounted. The short lifting arms will mess up the platform where your feet rest.

Depending on how much clean up you're talking about will change which implements it would require. I havent personly used one yet but it's on my wish list. A box blade is a very versatile tool for moving, ripping, leveling and finishing work.
Pictures would help for suggestions. And like everyone else on here, I love tractor porn!

The 3 point will have to come off to put the backhoe back on. It takes about 1-2 minutes to remove and install the 3 point after the initial install.
