What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I picked up a coolant recovery bottle for my B7100. It is a tight fit, but it will fit up against the firewall on the rh side. I hope to get it installed tonight. I will post pics, once completed. That about wraps up my project list for this tractor. It will be heading north with me next week...

    Front driveshaft housing question, B7100

Re: Fonrt driveshaft housing question, B7100 That housing has a tube attached that the front driveshaft goes through. It ends about 6" from the top yokes. If that seal is bad up there, contaminates could leak down the tube into that housing. If that did happen, not sure how feasible it would...

    Front driveshaft housing question, B7100

Re: Fonrt driveshaft housing question, B7100 Thanks T! I would say maybe 3-4 oz. of oil came out when I pulled the small plug. I guess I see no issue if oil is getting in there, as long as it is not getting contaminated. But, who knows what is getting down the driveshaft tube from the top end...

    Front driveshaft housing question, B7100

I decided to have a look at my front driveshaft today on my 1977, B7100. I drained the fluid from the front differential. The driveshaft housing that comes to the back of the differential has 2 bolts on it. One looks like a drain plug and one looks like a fill plug. In the photo, you can see oil...

    Gauge package, B7100

I've got a FEL on the tractor, so the side frame member offers a lot of protection for the gauge. Otherwise, I would probably be in trouble at some time. Time will tell. I just could not find another decent location to install it, without it getting in the way.

    Gauge package, B7100

I finally wrapped up my gauge install. Thanks to 85Hokie for all of his help with this!! Since I discovered that my Kubota hour meter was not working and since it is a standard 2" gauge, I decided to put an oil pressure gauge in the same location. The original oil pressure light is still...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Putting the final touches on my B7100. Just about done with my project list. I finished my gauge install today. I installed an oil pressure gauge, a coolant temp gauge, a volt meter and an hour meter (original does not work). I put the hour meter under the hood. The rest if the gauges are on the...

1977, B7100 front drive shaft removal

Well, the reason I say this, is I can see an area of shaft splines on the shaft, behind the upper yoke. I assume once I remove the roll pins, that the yoke can slide down the shaft further, possibly allowing enough room for the other end to drop free. Well, maybe in a perfect world...lol

1977, B7100 front drive shaft removal

Thanks NIW. I believe there is enough room to get the shaft down, with the FEL installed. I just wasn't sure how much movement would result, to get the yokes off of the splines, once the roll pins where removed from the yokes. I guess I could always remove the additional yoke pins, which should...

1977, B7100 front drive shaft removal

I looked through the service manual that I printed, but I am not seeing any instructions on how to remove the front drive shaft on this gear drive tractor. I want to take the shaft down to inspect all the U-joints and to see where that shaft spline to coupling play is coming from and how to...

    FEL lines

I just replaced some FEL lines on my tractor. The air line in the lines will take care of itself during the first operation. I just replaced 1 line at a time, so I did not get the lines mixed up.

    Price Check B7100

I purchased a 1977, B7100, gear drive with FEL in early February. It had 2200 hours on it, but hourmeter is not working. I paid $4800 for it, which seemed to be about the going rate with all the research I did. Besides fluid and filter changes, the tractor is in good condition. These tractors...

RC60-71B Mower Deck Tensioner Not Taking Grease

Take the belt off to relieve tension, see if the pulley spins freely. Try greasing it while you turn the pulley. I have had some success with this method in the past.
