    RTR tiller

I ran a 40" Howard on my L185DT with only about 13 PTO horses. I usually ran it in PTO-3 (1000 rpm), with the tiller gearing in hi. Never had a problem. Turned field into flour. I cannot imagine you having a problem with half again the power and only 10 more inches of tiller. If your garden...

    L235 Will not Start

Does that model have a compression release? If the lever or button is part way out it could do something like that.

Send a picture! Is there any chance the boom arm is pinned?

BX1850 Starts good, but dies when I push Fwd pedal

Sounds like the "fix" for the switch under the seat fell apart. Normally there are two wires that have to make contact in the seat switch to permit movement. The switch can be a pain in the neck, but if you have a wife or kids driving the tractor you really want the protection.

    FEL driver protector

On my L185 I dumped half a load of dirt and rock all over the hood more than once, trying to put excess fill in a big pile. I had a 4-post ROPS, so I didn't worry about boards or logs rolling back and causing painful injury. On my new L3200 I just finished a driver protector, made with 3/4" X...

How did you finally hold down the "heels" of the loader arms? More Pictures! Great job!!

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

I had a L185 for 35 years, but don't remember a charge indicator on it. All I remember is the oil pressure light. I guess that is what happens when you get old, and are learning the new one. If the battery is charging OK that should mean the regulator is OK. I don't know what would turn on...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

The rotor is the shaft that runs through the alternator, and has the rotating coil. When you have the alternator in your hand and spin the pulley, the coil that is moving inside it is the rotating coil. Somehow it has to connect to the outside world. On one end of it there should be two rings...

    FEL operation

When the ground is soft the R4's are something like bald tires on ice! I have some serious ruts that never happened with R1's. Problem is it would cost a fortune to change... And I am getting by nicely, and I can push awesomely on dry ground.

    FEL operation

Hodge, you must be right. I used to keep the L185 in 4wd 95% of the time. For reasons I don't understand, this one is there only about 50%. When I was load and unloading bricks, I was only hauling, not pushing or digging. Anyway, it is what it is. In the oilfield we call it a "lesson...

    L1501/L185 Charging Light Woes

There are a couple of slip rings in the alternator. The voltage regulator usually puts out a small voltage about 4VDC if I remember right. The 4V goes through the slip rings, and energizes the rotating coil. The pole pieces of the rotating coil are made such that they transfer magnetic energy...

    FEL operation

I had more trouble deciding between R1 & R4 tires than anything else on the tractor purchase. I really did end up going for the R4's because of the load rating. I still wish I'd gotten R1's every now and then. Just by the way, my dealer was giving me the rating of the front axle, and I was...

B3200, 72" mower removal with loader

It only takes about 5 minutes to remove or put on the loader - dead easy. Just make sure you do it on concrete or seasoned gravel. I think you stand a really good chance to crush your mower if the FEL stays on.

    3 Clutches in 650 hours?

What model is it? 2wd or 4wd? If 4wd, do you usually leave it in 4wd? Original tires, or new and maybe different than the brochure? After three clutches, I'm sure you have it right, but can it possibly be the linkage? Is it a wet clutch, or dry? Have enough fluid - after three...

    Brakes on l4600

You have to really push on the brakes when you lock them - I've never had a problem. Also make sure the two brake pedals are connected; otherwise you may only be locking one of them. I always make sure to set any attachments on the ground - I'd hate to have my kids or a neighbors' decide to...

    FEL operation

I read L3800’s thread about tire size on the L3800 - 4 ply rear and 8 ply front - and Bluegill’s response - they have to be heavier to handle the FEL. The topic had entered into my decision to go for R4 tires when I bought. I think we should all slow down a bit and think this through... We...

    b2920

I don't recall reading about any issue of vibration with the B3300. My dealer has been selling them like crazy - if it is the same everywhere, and they have vibration, someone would have written. I have encountered no vibrations on the L3200. Fair comments about your back. You can get quick...

    b2920

For all of that I'd consider the B3300SU, or the L3200/3800. The 3200 with gears cost about the same as the B3300 with HST, but you get about 700 lbs more tractor. When you are pushing or pulling things you want the largest diameter tire you can get - the 2920 falls short of the others. You...

    BX1800 grader blade sizing

I should add that I have a Cub Cadet zero-turn mower that I drop off the mower and put on chains and the blade - about 48" - and push snow around the house after I've had my way with the L3200. It does a terrific job cleaning things up. I'm sure anything for the Kubota is going to be heavier...

    BX1800 grader blade sizing

I have no idea what is available for the BX series, but my two cents says the diameter of the tire and the weight of the tractor are determining factors in what you can pull around. With a rear blade you are always pulling in the untouched snow. When the load on the blade gets too much, you...
