I have a BX1850 that has worked fine for 2 months. I used it at a friends place to move a pile. He brought it back the next morning cleaned up and refueled. I mowed an acre, then put it away. Next morning, it starts but dies if I step on Fwd or Reverse pedal. I replaced 2 fuel filters and the air filter and followed bleeding procedures in manual (turn key to on for 30 sec, then start for 30 seconds, then turn off). Previous owner disabled the security shut off under seat...FYI. Is my fuel pump not pumping?

Sounds like the "fix" for the switch under the seat fell apart. Normally there are two wires that have to make contact in the seat switch to permit movement. The switch can be a pain in the neck, but if you have a wife or kids driving the tractor you really want the protection.

Agreed that disabled safety switch under seat is likely culprit. May have to do some trouble-shooting or experimentation to get it to work.

Event description sounds like ours: starts and operates fine while seated. With motor running not moving can stand on deck not seated and continues to run. While standing not seated lightly tap hydrostat either way and machine will move a foot or two then chug and die. Can use this to pick up front implement by standing to see over hood and bumping footfeed nudging loader arms into position. Ours seems to have an event or cumulative counter I haven't figured out--after about the third nudge it dies regardless of distance moved forward. Simply clutch and restart.

Check Owner's Manual for procedure you can engage PTO (as for wood chipper) then leave seat with engine running and PTO engaged without it being killed by switch.

Recommend you reinstall switch to function as designed. Handy if you ever tump one over or get tossed off the seat. Might save both you and the machine. Reminds me of running an old Ford off into a pond when the PTO wouldn't disengage the brushhog (overrunning clutch followed soon thereafter).

Please post back and describe actions and fix to pass knowledge to all.

That was it! Although I don't know exactly what caused it. I unplugged and replugged and checked cables...etc. Maybe something was caught under the seat...IDK. But it is working now. I still need to check that the OPC system is working, just in case the op is tossed from seat...like you all said. THANKS!!
