    Generator project

Great project! You do nice work. Would like to build a genset like this someday. Not sure if they still use them, but I have an older Mercedes that uses rubber couplings on the drive shaft instead of u-joints. This is my plan to couple things together.

    Okay, I'll play

Curios...was distributor from similar era auto? What size or model of engine? My old Mazda B2000 2.0l has about 370k on it. They made some tough, durable engines....trucks too.

Advice on loading backhoe attachment onto trailer

Find a local towing company that has a boom-lift type truck. Cost would be minimal compared to time saved. Pay driver in cash. Easily worth $200. Could possibly turn into insurance company if legit receipt were produced....if one were so inclined. Just saying! Or hire near by farmer with...

    Implement Height Stop Thumbscrew Upgrade

Great mod...thanks for sharing. I ordered a KIPP branded one from fleabay...about $18 shipped. Very nice aluminum lever. Only issue I had was removing the factory thumb screw. Guessing they used a one-time use locknut. First the plastic knob broke, then I broke off the threads in the nut...

    Brush hog land pride

Good call B737. I missed that. I too have the QH15. I have it set up with just a few degrees of backward tilt. Mostly to keep the locking handles from hitting the tail lights when unlocked and hitch raised all the way up.

    Brush hog land pride

My guess is one or both of the long bars are bolted to tight at the deck. They need to be loose to allow the mower to follow ground contour. You don't want the mower to be a rigid extension of the tractor. Rear wheel of the mower has to be able to raise/lower over the hills & valleys as you...

    Productive day

I don't think pics 2 & 5 should count as they contain no tractor or equipment! Three is a stretch. :D Looks good. Funny how scruffy, overgrown property looks well managed by just brush hogging it a couple times a year.

    Adding gages

Assuming tractor has coolant temp gauge, my choice would be ammeter, engine oil pressure and Hydro temp. But I'd have to want it pretty bad to go through the trouble of installing all those. But hey, it's your ride...make it yours!:)

    Rear Blade for B6200

Perhaps a bit overkill for your 6100, but you won't break it. You could always cut 4-6" off each side if need be. What is the purpose of the square tubing protruding beyond the lower lift pins? Would think that to be a hindrance in hooking up.

    Size pallet forks for L3901?

You are spot on with your own assessment of 42" @ 2k cap. Agree about taller frame too. I have the Landpride version, and it is my most used attachment on my 3301. Very beefy unit. Even taking into account the weight of forks and the SSQA setup, I'd say you still have 700-800 lbs of capacity.

Is there any way to add cruise control on L47?

I cannot imagine cruise not being available for your 4701. While a larger frame tractor, it is still same family as the 2501-3901 series. I added it to my 3301. Not near as difficult a task as dealer said it would be. About 3 hrs with simple tools. Was about $225 or so for the kit. Worth...

    4 wheeler battery

When my Kawasaki Mule needed a new battery I installed a lawnmower battery. As you stated, a fraction of the price & longer lasting than ATV batt. As a tangent, this week I sold my dad's B2400 tractor he purchased in 2000. It was on its 2nd battery he installed in 2007. Still worked just...

    A Perfect Paint Match

I used a Van Sickle AC orange on my G5200 deck. It's a pretty close match, just a hair darker. Add some dirt & clippings it's hard to detect. Would bet the RO is the same.

What About Your Tractor Makes You Swear?

Have a few gripes about my L3301, and most I have made mods to suit me. But one that leaves me baffled is why Kubota made the grill screen that can only be removed with loader in the raised position. Very counterintuitive toward safety & convenience.

    Garage door opener

    Random product questions

    1. Really like Zymol for older paint on Sub & Benz. Mothers or Meguires for Taco & Nissan. 2. Have a cedar deck. Been trying various stains for years, and not found one yet that lasts the 4-6 years as claimed. Two years is about max. 3. Same Char-Broil grille for 20 years, used heavily and...

    Cup holder-box removal? BX23S

Cannot comment on cup holder, but the knob handles could be easily removed. Provided they are not glued on. On my L3301, all those orange & yellow caps have a small hole in the top of them to purge air when installed. Simply hold an air gun over them, and as you blast in the air, pull/wiggle...

    BX1860 Ignition Switch

I have repaired several plastic nuts with gel-type superglue. Of course one has to have all the pieces. If plastic is not superglue compatible, pipe cement or acetone may act as a solvent-weld to hold together temporarily. Then epoxy a secondary ring or washer to one side for reinforcement.
