    Parts prices

Well, for the complete story, I'm not entirely sure how much was really "he's just a nice guy and he could only do it when nobody was around". He did make some comment to the effect that he was already started in the end of day shut-down (whatever that may entail), so trying to figure out how...

    Parts prices

You and I both know that our local dealerships are without a doubt one of the worst in the country, and they have managed to lock-in the entire region for Kubota/Bobcat to eliminate any competitive options. Most of the folks who work there could not care less, but there are a couple of decent...

    Boom Pole

One of the first attachments I added was a 3-point lift pole (I don't think it's technically considered a boom pole?) It sure comes in handy, even with the loader. And I have plans to use a few chain hooks to make it function as a full lift-n-carry for my big (6' x 7' or so?) heavy chain...

Wanted: B7100 tire swap (have ag, looking for turf)

WolfMan pointed me to Fastenal LTL shipping for my tire deal a while back. Fastenal would NEVER come to my mind as economical for anything, but their freight shipping is a really good deal. Without it, my B2150 Ag tires deal would never have been practical.

    Skid Steer Quick Attach

Looks to me like it just needs pulled up and the bottom pin put in. The lack of forward weight that a bucket or other implement would have lets it slide down the top of the mount, and because of the offset at the top, that sliding down the top ramp due to gravity results in kicking out at the...

    The Dark Side of Technology...

Mine were both raised with real world involvement with music and sports as they were inclined. They both also grew up with full emersion in modern technology, but not run amuck as so many do, using videos and games as convenient babysitters. They both knew their boundaries (and chores) with...

    Backhoe vs. 3PT.????

I think you may be missing the triangulating brace as shown in KubotaSam's attached image. To restate the obvious, there is no down force on a 3 point, and if it can rise, it will rise when trying to dig, and could easily injure the operator or damage the equipment. 3 point backhoes are not...

Setting up a Dual Plate Clutch ???

That looks almost exactly like the alignment tool I machined from a piece of sucker rod I had lying about. Nothing all that precise, just had to reverse engineer from measuring the various components to figure out what it should look like. Probably a 30 minute project, but requires a lathe...

    torque question

As much work (and mess) as it takes to get in there, the amount of strain/vibration/impact that faster experiences, and the amount of damage that could be caused by a failure (too tight OR too loose), I would go buy a new torque wrench before assembling without one...

    No savings online (kubota parts)

Must be nice. Our local Kubota dealer is one guy/family that has managed to secure what amounts to a monopoly over the whole Phoenix area. Not sure if he bought the region from Kubota/Bobcat, or if he just bought up all the competitors, but either way, there are no competitors, and their...

    backhoe

I generally agree, but I did acquire a sub-frame backhoe with my B2150. I don't think it will be too bad. I watched a guy remove and then reinstall one with a very similar setup, having a sub-frame with big hook like drop-in "quick"(?) mounts. I would estimate 5 minutes to remove, maybe 10...

    backhoe

I went to the lowest part, which extended near a dry creek. I ran a turning plow as deep as I could from the dry creek across the low area going both ways, so I had a fairly deep ditch with berms on either side. Then used a gannon box to disperse the berms. On the up hill side where I got...

    backhoe

I bought a pasture like that once. Beautiful piece of land, good stand of grass, great price, I bit. Same thing as you describe. I eventually found out the whole area had a clay bed like a big bowl with the low spot right under my pasture, which was basically floating. You could drop a post...

What do you use for a welder?

Victor torches large and small (forget the models) for gas welding/brazing/soldering (and cutting/heating). Miller 175 for day to day MIG needs. Syncrowave 351 for heavy stick and TIG.

Welcome our new Moderators: North Idaho Wolfman + coachgeo!

For my opinion, great choice on both. Not sure if condolences or congratulations are appropriate, but great choices nonetheless... ;)

    B219 owners, favor needed

Ok, I drug out the micrometers just for you. The measurements were so surprising, I went back and checked calibration to be sure, and they were both accurate within tenths. Anyway, the tube on the cleanest closest to virgin place I could find checked at ~2.376(+) without paint (looks like my...

    B219 owners, favor needed

Well, it includes paint such that it is. Most of it is pretty well burnt, but it's there. If you need more precise, I can put a micrometer on it (or even a good caliper) instead of the worn vernier caliper I grabbed (which I generally use around the shop for rough measurements).

I just measured mine at roughly (not accounting for paint) 2.350".

Is the B219 the one with the front PTO pump? If it is, I have one and can get you the measurements.
