Re: b700 parts in the uk I did follow it with a question mark! When I chase any parts, I supply the OEM part number to the parts desks, they punch it in and see if it's available to order. While I haven't done it for a kubota in the UK, it's worth a try if he can get help with some numbers.

Is this a 4x4? If it is, the oil in the axle housing and front diff is probably all the same and floats from one to the other. Therefore you can check the level in the main axle housing when on level ground with tires inflated identically. I expect you'll need it about half filled in the axle...

If you isolate and check the dynamo's output, it is between the 2 wires, they are not grounded at this point.

IIRC about 20 volts AC is the dynamo output before it is rectified and regulated, ensure you are getting that. While tracking and/or cameras are good, there are ways around them, don't forget to get dedicated insurance for it so if it does disappear completely you are compensated.

X2, if you have good compression, injectors and glow plugs you may be OK. Of course you can't check the bottom end, or the ring lands without dismantling. I beg to differ, if an engine has working glow plugs, compression and injectors that spray correctly the effects of previously using ether...

Are you sure it's not leaking from above and running around the filter?

Take the filter straight to your dealer and get it documented/photographed for future.... However, you say "curls on the filter", could this be from a slightly cross threaded filter when you put it back on last time?

Perhaps clutch housing or diesel overflow?

Pull the line off after the fuel filter and run into a bucket and run the pump and cycle the fuel through the tank and see if there is good flow continuously. It is possible that something is blocking the lines. However I'd also check the hydraulic oil by dipstick, and also 'crack' or loosen the...

Drain tank, lines, filter, fully crack injectors and crank till you get nice clean diesel freely flowing. Don't let your buddy borrow your tractor because if he isn't going to be sure of what he puts in your tank, I doubt he's going to be sure of how to look after the rest of the machine.
