battery going dead

I have a new 6 hrs L4701 battery went dead put a new battery in it dealer supplied 8.5 hrs started to turn over slow ??? showed code P0606 .upon looking on charging battery showed 12.5 volts running or not looked closer at the alternator the plug connector was laying against the block ,took it plug it back in alternator presto started charging 13.5 volts .Apparently they never hook it up from the factory .just kind of weird

And apparently your dealer didn't bother to check it was charging?

That's pretty common for them to not do that check :rolleyes: The thought is it's brand new equipment.

Unless they have had it come back to bite them in the keister :p I try to train my guys to double check that stuff when doing a new equipment check. And yes, I had four brand new pieces of rental equipment bite me in the booty because of that. The manufacturer of the equipment switched to a different company for the manufacturing of the wiring harness. One of the jumper pieces in the wiring harness was missing the wire for the exciter to the alternator.That quick check would have saved me an embarrassing service call at 2am :rolleyes:
