    L185 pin plug.

You could always remove the oil pressure sending unit and install a pressurized pre-lube tank to flush constantly while you're drilling and tapping.

diesel exhaust & shortness of breath

I'll take the smell of properly burned diesel fuel any day (no exhaust haze), over what comes out of today's "clean" engines. When you're cruising down the highway and all of a sudden you're choked by what smells like a can of Brake-Clean that exploded in your trunk, you know there's a big truck...

    L3750 power steering

Usually the case with years of abuse and neglect. It took me a quite some time to get my L3650 where I wanted it. Don't give up on it yet, plenty of help here for the asking. FYI, I was losing coolant from the tank through the top, just from the tractor bouncing over ruts. A new gasket on the...

Diesel from a 5 Gallon can

I had the same thing with my containers ... I put a quart of kerosene in with a cotton rag and sloshed it around. I really was surprised at how well it worked. Dumped mine in the waste oil though... Free heat!!

Diesel from a 5 Gallon can

I've just been using my empty 5gal UDT jugs with a hand siphon pump (kerosene heater style). Simple and works great.

Temperature gauge on L275, or lack thereof

Cylinder head temp is definitely the way to go. With the upper hose deal, you'll never know if the thermostat sticks closed until it's cooked! Don't ask how I know.

    L3650 Fan Belt Change

As long as you've got your nose in there .... take a close look at the fan blades for cracks. Here's how I know... Of course it took out the battery too!!

Loader pivot pin stuck. How to remove?

Great "last resort" fix!! Reminds me of my loader arm fix.

Loader pivot pin stuck. How to remove?

An OTC ball joint/u-joint press should work. Harbor Freight has a weak China one (my son broke one then borrowed mine for a Dodge 3/4 ton). Most chain auto parts stores will loan them out. Air impact won't hurt... Use a face shield! Get it bright red with an oxy-acetylene torch then get the...

    L2250 Steering Play

I tried grabbing the diagram in Messicks as a PDF.... was very grainy. Here's a link to the page. https://www.messicks.com/ku/85267?sectionId=218315&diagramId=350337 Kubota VB... pay close attention to that bold note. It's a little hard to feel past the spring loaded spool which gives you a...

    L2250 Steering Play

Springs I'm taking about are #160. To check to see if you adjustment is close, get the front wheels off the ground, engine off, center the steering, grab and rock the pitman arm.... you should just be able to feel the sector shaft gear hitting the ball nut gear face. I can get the spec tomorrow...

    L2250 Steering Play

Is the play there with the engine running? If it's only there with the engine off, what you're feeling is the spring loaded spool valve at the far end of the steering box.... perfectly normal. That's actually what controls fluid flow for the power assist. With the splined adapter removed from...

L3650 Steering Box Fix (Old Style Steering)

NIW, is this trans case that weak? Anything I should be careful of when using? Bought it with 2400 hours and appeared to be maintained as far as fluid changes and lubing. Everything else was fixed with bread bag twist ties, wrapping rags around leaks, baling twine holding FEL hydraulic hoses in...

L3650 Steering Box Fix (Old Style Steering)

Thanks for the responses guys. Dave thanks for the response with the correct snap ring installation guide, I always enjoy hearing from engineer.... NO sarcasm intended at all. I will assure you the internal snap ring was installed correctly. If you look at the first picture in the link, you...

L3650 Steering Box Fix (Old Style Steering)

Here's where my story started.. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?p=250663#post250663 After a thorough repair and rebuild, 50 hours later the snap ring shattered again, blowing the input bearing retainer off and dumping the fluid once again. Thinking I may not have cut...

    L 5450 hydraulic leak

I hate to be that guy.... but... Japanese machine = JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screw heads. There is a huge difference. The Snap On and Mac Tools guys don't even know what this means. When you strip out the cross with a brand new Phillips, you can usually get it out with a JIS without...

    New L1500 Owner Question

That spring probably isn't necessary that it's an OE part. I'd be off to the hardware store for something that fits the shaft. Then cut it to length just so it's keeping tension on the cartridge.

Brand new L4701 lost oil plug and run dry

This is the absolute least any reputable dealer should do in a situation like this !!!
