New to me BX23S w/ Backhoe

The direction on your right front tire is wrong. Someone may have turned the wheels inside out to increase the track width. If they both look the same, you’ll just have to swap them from side to side. If it’s only the one side, you’ll have to dismount and remount it.

    Kubota M4950DT

Here’s the best I could find. I’ll apologize in advance for it being in Japanese. I don’t know if it helps at all. Hopefully someone else who has it will chime in.

    More snowblower issues

If you have an Auto Zone, Advanced, or O’Reilly auto nearby, you can go there and get one on a loaner program. Hopefully there’s enough material there to grab it. The key on the shaft may be twisted jamming the whole deal. Get a couple more 3/8” bolts about 1/2” and 1” longer to push off of. You...

    Kubota M4950DT

Welcome! I’m sure someone on this end of the planet will be able to help. We definitely need more information though. Model number is a minimum (which I see you added), a picture of the problem area would be great… especially if you’re looking for routing of the harness. You may need a few more...

My new L2250Dt smoking from engine oil filler & overflow

As NIW said, you can pull the rocker cover off and make sure you have a touch of play in each rocker arm when the valves are closed… just to make sure you don’t have a tight one holding a valve open.

My new L2250Dt smoking from engine oil filler & overflow

Where exactly did you read that I said the engine would fire off? I’ll save the sarcastic reply on disabling the fuel system for a later time. Minute amount of oil? Couple of squirts with an oil can? Then spin it over with the glow plugs out… now you have oil mist in the cylinder…...

    BX23s ignition bent

If you get the door out of there and the switch operates normally, I’d go with the cover, or anything else I could find to keep the weather out.

My new L2250Dt smoking from engine oil filler & overflow

👆 X2 Everything mentioned above were my first thoughts. Do not do a wet test. There’s no need for it on a diesel, and there’s the risk of bending a rod, or the possibility of the cylinder firing on the oil (fuel) you put in the cylinder. On a gas engine, the ignition source is removed when...

    Oh L3901 steering

On mine the control valve is at the other end of the box and the shaft is solid... I’ve repaired a few of this style. I haven’t seen the hollow shaft you have as of yet.

    Oh L3901 steering

Here’s how I fixed my steering overthrow problem. And yes the RF tire did hit the steering shaft and the loader valve. Working perfectly since adding the steering stop almost 5 years ago. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/l3650-steering-box-fix-old-style-steering.36543/ EDIT...

    Oh L3901 steering

Are you taking about this? Pics are worth 1000 words. Get a WSM. Pressure wash it, pull it off and apart. Input shaft is part of the ball nut (screw) assy. Turn the shaft out of the ball nut as far as you can. Wrap a wet rag around the base, heat the shaft and straighten it. If it survives...

    D722 starting

Have you checked the compression after the starting fluid (ether) use? It only takes a split second to bend a connecting rod or break a piston. Especially knowing it locked up when cranking. Compression spec is 413-469 psi if this sheet is correct. 👇...

    Changing the transmission/hydraulic oil

Auto Zone, Advanced, or most quick lubes will normally take it at no charge. If you’re driving to the other end of the Commonwealth, I’ll take it.😉 P.S. If you end up at one of the corporate outfits, just say you have oil. The (ex fast food) employees are told to only accept oil…. Not knowing...

    Emptying the water seperator

It is actually very critical because of this……. 👇 With a common rail system like yours, the cost to repair damage from contaminated / unfiltered fuel will make your head spin!!!

    Rear Wheels

When clearing brush or debris with a piranha tooth bar, the bucket width is cleared. I also have nothing stuck between my tire and wheel on the inside… outside I do.

    Rear Wheels

Mine are inboard for that exact reason. Pulled out many twigs / small branches caught between the rim flange and the wheel. If my stems were on the outside without welded protection hoops, they definitely would be damaged. IMHO, if you bought it to get it dirty and don’t have hoops, leave them...
