2014 RTV-1140CPX New Project for Restoration Part 1

CONTINUING THE RESTORATION Thanks all for your support! As I report this work, please note that not everything is done in a specific order. For example, I didn't blast the entire frame at once, nor did I do just the front end before doing anything else. Part of the work is discovery and...

2014 RTV-1140CPX New Project for Restoration Part 1

Since the L35 TLB is complete and working, I decided I needed another restoration project. I needed something that could haul tools, lumber, dirt and whatever around the place. I started looking at golf carts - no. Then JD Gators - no. They won't do. Then I looked at what Kubota was offering...

    RTV X900 HST Repair

I think @ruger1980 has great points. I'll add a couple more thoughts. In the end it's not always about one thing. Since I don't know the condition of the rest of the unit here goes: 1) Check out the front brakes/hubs and see if there's oil in them and the overall condition. If not, a rebuild...

    RTV X900 HST Repair

Well good for you for digging in. I think we're past any more guesses and time to think about making it work and the costs - yeah. Assuming the frame and such are all in good shape and you want to restore it to working order $1500 is reasonable. Add 5 or so gallons of UDT and another 200 for...

    RTV X900 HST Repair

Nice job of diagnosing and repair. What do you think happened? It appears that the piston shown was "hammered". I wonder if lack of hydraulic oil and/or water in the system would cause the system to "hammer" as it starved for oil under a significant load? Is that a "groove" worn in the...

    Long Term Diesel Storage?

Here is how I store diesel: I utilized a large 40 gallon plastic tank and added a desiccant filter, pump, diesel filter, and associated hoses and fittings. The whole thing is mounted on a modified dolly, Whatever tank you get, just ensure the pump and hoses are all compatible with diesel. If...

    L35 Fitting Failure

Interesting. Did it just blow off when you lowered the stabilizer? Do you have any other pics such as the part that blew off?

L35 - No front loader Tilt

Wow! Hopefully the cylinders are not scored and rod threads are not buggered up. Rebuilding those cylinders is easier than most since they aren't as heavy. The kits should have a new nut as well as the seals, but there are two versions of cylinders on the machine based upon the serial number...

L3130 - suspected crankshaft damage - how to remove engine

Ah restorations! Always challenging. Well, I'm glad you got the tractor moving albeit with some Chevy parts! A Kubovy. On my L35, the fuel is always on. There is a timer circuit such that when the key switch is turned off, power is supplied to the fuel solenoid for a period of about 10...

L3130 - suspected crankshaft damage - how to remove engine

Hello I know you said you've checked the switches and they may be fine, but did you ensure that the actual linkages to the switches were adjusted properly? So, on my l35, there are leaf switches that are activated by the various linkages for shifting, brake and PTO. Yours has more switches...

L3130 - suspected crankshaft damage - how to remove engine

Progress nonetheless. I ended up enlarging wiring diagrams on my printer. This is especially helpful where pages change, Wiring diagrams are made for 20yo eyes! If you've found the HST pedal switch, I'd be surprised if it wasn't bad or bad wiring. Goodluck.
