    L3400 not getting fuel

Internally, the solenoid has a coil for high current during field build up (pull). Once the field is stable, then a hold coil is all that is needed (hold). By having two coils, power and heat are minimized. You should be getting 12V at the solenoid connector when the key switch is in either ON...

    L3400 not getting fuel

    1) I would check for 12V at the solenoid harness connector both start and run pins using a test lamp or voltmeter. 2) check for ground connection at solenoid using ohmmeter or test lamp. 3) Running a separate fused cable from battery and ground to solenoid and checking that solenoid moves. It...

    L3200 HST Rear PTO Issue

Just to clarify, when you remove the drive shaft from the brush hog to the pto, is the pto turning? Another person or mirror to see it. If it does not, then it is likely an adjustment on the pto lever / cable. I've found that the shear bolts last longer by slowly engaging the clutch at the...

    Should i be concerned???

Could be lots of things. First I would check the air intake and filter. Also exhaust to make sure it is clear. After that fuel injectors and such. How many hours?

    M7040N fuse keeps blowing

I don't have a schematic to that machine. It sounds that the starter relay coil or terminal is shorted to ground. Try disconnecting the starter relay, turn key to start, and see if the fuse blows. If it does, then it is likely in the wiring harness. If not, then ohm the starter relay to see...

    wrist pin

No hard core shrapnel, the cylinder walls will protect you! For sure want the pin clips installed correctly. Without them, and the pin starts to move, it will tap the cylinder wall. That's the audible you don't want to hear.

    wrist pin

Problem solved. The only drawback is in the unlikely event that you ever need it out again you now have a non-standard part. Depending on how tight the pin tolerance is held the variation on pins pulled from a bag may or may not be within the new diameter. It's done, I would not worry about it.

    New wiring harness

If the wiring insulation is still good, then you would just need to replace connectors. NAPA usually is a good place to start. I also see (but have not tried) JIMCOTEST which shows Japanese style connectors. If you decide to totally rewire then either duplicate what is in place, or pull the...

    D1703 rebuild

The bushing should go in easier because it can give in the center where there is no metal. If it is hard to get in, then heat the bigger part. If the pin is hard to get in, then heat both the rod and the bushing with the bushing installed - and chill the pin. When you heat it in the oven...

    But 10 issues

Welcome to the forum. Basically, three things: Fuel, air, compression. How's the air filter? Any obstructions in air intake? For sure, need to get a fuel filter. Check the fuel tank for anything other than diesel. You may want to let some fuel drain into clear container to take a look at it...

    D1703 rebuild

I think that if you sent it out, it would probably be put to the press after heating with a torch. Without a press, I would heat it in the oven for a while, and cold soak the pin in a baggie in the freezer. Then move fast to mate it. Wolfman just posted...

    D1703 rebuild

I believe that is to expand the hole, not for lubrication. Oil bath gives better and uniform heat transfer. The other ways are local heating and using a press.

    Help with hydraulic rear remote

Looking for advice on hydraulics. What I have is an L3800 with a rear remote. Two connects, Pioneer 4050-3P, 3/8". 6.3 gpm available. Valve open spool, no detents. What I would like to do is to run a hydraulic tool, essentially a hydraulic motor, max allowable pressure of 2000 psi, and it...

    Stripped bolts on underbelly attachments?

Your picture shows studs. They either backed out and the threads got hit by vibration, or got overtightened and stripped the threads. Since they are turning, I would cut or grind on the bottom side. They should then push up and out. If the plate is OK then run a tap or thread chaser in the hole...

    Hey Everyone

L3800 you most likely have a flex cable that comes from the back of the instrument panel, right-angle fitting with cable headed to right. I believe that Coleman has the Workshop Manual 9Y121-05200; and Illustrated Parts List (IPL) 97898-25000 for L3800H model. Give them a call to get the right...

    Alternative regulator?

The amount of charging current into a battery will vary with the amount of discharge. A 90% charged battery will allow less charging current than a 70% charged battery. However, a battery that has been neglected will lose capacity. It will stop taking a charge way below its listed capacity...

    Splitting Hydraulics

You might want to look at this recent thread: books on tractor hydraulics? The usual tractor setup is in series with power-beyond. Your diagram shows tees, which is a parallel setup.

    Speed Control Pedal safety switch

On this picture, look at the "40A", then right to plastic box, then right to box mounted on flange. That's the switch. Plunger is on bottom. Pedal mechanically linked on underside of foot. And it's possible that the switch has moved up in its holder. WSM pages 9-M10 and 9-S10.

Help, no start after fuel filter change

It might help to parallel the battery with jumper cables to a running vehicle. Cold affects the battery capacity. No.1 diesel during cold wx. Sounds like it is still clogging. Glow plugs for instruction book time. Block heater for oil.
