    Thermostat check

Phil, you mentioned your decompression lever wasn't working correctly, and you have the valve cover off. There's an "0" ring in the housing at the front end that could be dry or dirty on the shaft between the VC and the arm the cable hooks to. Once you have the shaft turning freely, and in the...

Need to purchase new starter for L2600DT

Don't you just love those service manuals that show pictures, number components and then make statements like" ....remove shaft, bearing, seal. Re-assemble in reverse order." But you can't figure out what's holding the shaft in place so you can't get to the bearing and seal! That is one nice...

BX2200 losing rpm and blowing smoke under load

If you end up getting into the injection pump and injectors I'd suggest give a call to Oregon Fuel Injection. I talked to Don in service. 541-773-8669. I could get a pump from them for an L305 shipped to my door in 5 days for just a tad over 1/2 of kubota price, brand new no core charge...

Having hard time getting out of 4wd

Get your front tires off the ground to eliminate friction if you have tire sizes that cause a bind. Manually roll the tires forward and backward. After inspection of linkage, and lubed as others mentioned try moving the lever again to get it to shift. I had to use a little leverage to the my...

    New member

Before you get into litigation I'd suggest getting back in touch with the folks at the SE regional office. They should be even more understanding with this additional problem and see to it for timely, complete and final repairs. Might even ask them for some insurance to cover any further...

    Log Splitter

I bought one of those new in bout '82. Used it a few times, and being 6'-4" and splitting hedge I decided it was too close to the ground for me. It's speed of splitting, functionality and safety didn't compare to the hydraulic splitter I built. I stuck it under a work bench and actually...

L305DT split collar in drive axle assembly

I have a seal leaking between the upper case and lower case of the drive housing. I've got it apart to the point of removing the vertical shaft with the split collars. What holds them in their position? Are they held in by the bevel gear? How to remove them so I can get to the seal? Any...

    Glow Plug Indicator/Controller

phildac, I was at the dealer this morning and brought up your question. He said the old L series tractor had a different part number for the GP indicator. It did not glow bright like the newer models even though it was the same physical size and looked the same. It did have a different...

    Odd mowing question

If you want your lawn striped you can take a piece of belting (like used on a baler) and bolt it on the backside of your deck. Mount it so it's an inch or so above grade. You can buy the belting by the foot at most farm supply stores. Simple, easy, low cost. If you don't like it you can...

    Slack In Accelerator Arm

Are all the pivot points wallowed out causing the slack? 700 hours shouldn't allow so much wear on the iron to be very far out of adjustment. If there's nothing obvious adjust the rod to suit you.

    M6950 difficult or won't start

No smoke indicates no fuel. You say you bled the lines at the injectors. If you got fuel there, injectors are next in line. I reread you previous post and I think you want to bleed the fuel filter(then shut off that screw) , then the line to the IP (then shut off that screw), THEN loosen the...

    M6950 difficult or won't start

Did you loosen the fuel lines at the injectors while turning engine over to eliminate air in lines from IP to injectors? I would suggest checking all fuel lines and connections to be sure they are tight. Also, return lines have to be air tight.

    Tractor runs then quits

Deteriorated fuel or return line or loose clamp allowing air intrusion.

    Glow Plug Indicator/Controller

I've noticed the same think on my L305. I first thought the battery must be weak, but it turns the starter real good. Then I thought maybe it's just the sun. It's bright and seemingly not letting me see the full glow. Tried to shade the sun out and still not bright. I think maybe the older...

Lanscape rake vs Pine Straw rake

Someone posted pictures of a gauge wheel they fabricated a couple of weeks ago. Might purchase a used rake and make your own gauge wheel.

Resurection From 2014 - BX22 Left to Me

ehenry, some people would say, "You're lucky". What it really is, is an example of: You get what you sow, more then you sow, latter then you sow. Scriptural principles! If the world was full of people like you and your neighbor we'd still have "Grit" magazine because there would be a lot of...

Need to mow and need advice?

If you have a mower with one big blade it's probably a brush mower, not a finish mower. It will provide a rough cut--not make a good looking lawn.

    Glow plugs

I have older machines, B8200 and L305 and their GP wiring is simple. The starter switch has a terminal with a wire going to the GP indicator. (On these tractors that's a coiled resistance wire that glows when voltage runs through it.) The other side of the GP indicator goes to the GP's. Glow...

BX25 with Pallet forks can lift an empty wood shed?

Use your 8x8 pallet for your base and build it just as you described. On one end of the base add a 2x8 (or some other timber you have) under the pallet and extend it out another 6" on each side. When you need to move the shed you can take your loader and pick up a couple of inches and lay a...
