L2800 series kubota starts and runs for about 2 minutes then slowly quits. Fuel filter has been changed , bled the lines and problem persists. What else could cause the problem?
Here are some things to check:
Bad Fuel, contaminated or old.
Bad fuel lines, collapsing, leaking.
Bad lift pump, remove feed to injection pump and check for flow.
Bad fuel shut off solenoid, cutting off fuel flow.
What does it do when it dies?
Does it smoke either when it's starting, running or dies?
Make sure the wrapper is off of your fuel filter, since you say you just changed it...that has been done before and confounded people for quite a while.
Ensure you don't have gas in your diesel tank.
Ensure you're getting fuel. This means adding at least 5 gallons of diesel to your tank regardless of the fuel gauge.
I serviced a John Deere a while back that had two fuel pickups from the TOP of the tank, and one line had cracked near the TOP of the tank, so even though there was fuel in the tank, nothing was getting to the motor.
Make sure the fuel lever (if your model has one) is in the ON position.
does it sound normal? not like there's a massive nest in the exhaust? I'd definately disconnect the supply to the injector pump and either put a gauge on it to see what the feed pressure does or put it into a bucket and crank it for thirty seconds. you should have about a liter of fuel, a rough estimate but it should be a strong steady flow
If you haven't solved your problem, let me suggest this. I have several KX71 Kubota excavators as well as KX41 and KX91. After a time, the water fuel separators will fail. The fittings on the separator where you clamp the hoses will vibrate until they work their way loose. This causes the fuel system to suck air and problems like you describe. I have resealed them with JB Weld. That works for a while but will soon break loose again. The only way to fix it is to replace it. If anyone here knows another way, I would love to hear it. I have replaced 6 so far. I really don't know if this applies to your tractor but it's very easy to check. If the fittings will turn in the body of the separator, try the JB Weld thing. If it runs right afterward, buy a separator.
