L3650 3pt. Hitch arms float down?

The rod and piston are very strong and are likely fine - but a part failure that can cause the hitch to drop is leaking of the o-ring 04810-00750 on the piston. The part is only $6 but access to it requires lifting off the 3-point hitch assembly - a few hours of labor so its spendy at a...

    Deutz Fahr tractor bizarre failure

Yes - tractor makers are adding ABS for skid control. This video shows improved steering under hard braking in slippery conditions. Sudden braking can be expected at road speeds. Front brakes put more forces on the frame & structure. Seeing that axle roll under had to be an Ahah! moment.

    Deutz Fahr tractor bizarre failure

Maybe OTT beople have seen this Youtube video? ? It shows a large new-looking Deutz Fahr tractor going along on pavement and suddenly the front axle breaks off ! It appears the axle mounting frame breaks away and the machine starts cimbing over it, skidding to a stop with the axle bent down 90...

    L4150 Water Pump

Check this link. They list the former part number 17381-73030 - maybe they can still supply the original type item (good design considering yours has lasted 40 years?)

    L48 Case Cylinder Assembly

Hi Cerdahill, I sent Dragok an invitation to join our conversation about this. Hope you can get more info on how he came out modifying the used one from a L3710. Take care, Dick B

    L48 Case Cylinder Assembly

That cast iron rockshaft/cylinder housing is used on several L models - Lxx10 machines are closest - it has different part numbers due to small differences in the drilled holes in the front. Somebody on this forum was looking for one (last year?) and located a used one from a L3710 - was...

    Rear PTO noisy when engaged

Always nice when a bothersome noise just goes away - hope it stays gone (y) .

    Rear PTO noisy when engaged

On the noise my guess would be the over-running clutch halves are clattering when there's no load, and any torque needed to turn the shafts is enough to quiet it down. The spring may have a missing snap ring or spacer. Its likely not doing any damage - but the engaging shifter is located...

L3130 HST Mid and High Gear

This may be a square 1 question - is this by chance your first HST tractor? What rpm do you customarily set the hand throttle to? I remember when driving my first HST I used the HST pedal like a "gas pedal" which was wrong. First adjust the hand throttle to around 1800 rpm, and THEN try...

    PTO stops

    Models M4700, M4900,M5400, M5700 (1995-2008) have hydraulic pto clutches.

L245DT Stopped Working in 4WD - Bolts for Front Differential Ring Gear Sheared - Pics - Repair Summary

Well as differential failures go, I'd say this one was pretty lucky. To only need six new bolts and a gasket to restore operating condition is rare. Find some nice grade 5 or even grade 8 replacements - maybe use some permanent Loctite. Congratulations on qualifying for the Guinness Book of...

    BF400 loader broken part

On other loaders I've worked on, the front "rod" is really a hollow piece of pipe. Try squirting liquid wrench through the end hole liberally and let it soak a day or two, with more sprays. Then use a pipe wrench in what's left of the bolt, maybe weld a big nut on the broken off stud to have...

There's another sealing plug inside the front engine cover - part 5 on this parts page - (L345 and L305 have same plug)

Advice needed on adding hydraulic circuit

"I'd prefer to keep this old beast looking original ......." "Old beasts" look plain fabulous when it shows they are in good hands - very impressive solution ! I'll bet you could add a video monitor to this rig that would look like it belongs. Dick B.

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

The WSM for my L5450 says with pedal up, "Ever Clutch" hydraulic pressure should be between 156 and 199 psi w/engine at 900 - 2600 rpm, all shifters in neutral. The similar M6800H clutch packs have 12 plates instead of 10 - but I'm guessing operating pressure may be similar.

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

Yeah, and its a nasty surprise when you first need a quick lookup and hit the wall....I added another screen shot above in post #8 - notice the left pane is a pull-out from the side - if you don't guess that it stares at you like you're stupid (not far off in my case) - but after some thrashing...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

The clutch pack is generally a larger version of the one used for the Ever Clutch first used on L3 models. The Kubota parts website shows 2 versions - see below. If it's slipping in one direction, not both, then it could be worn discs and steels. I found the new Kubota Parts Lists a bit...

    M6800 hydraulic shuttle

If I'm reading the parts diagrams right, the M6800H and M6800HDC models have a gear-type shuttle operated by hydraulic valves. Look for a manual that's for those H models. The shuttle is geared, although the pto has a hydraulic clutch. What issues are you having? Dick B

MX5400 hydraulic arm shaft and control rod damage

Further to my theory of the case: The MX5400 range of the stabilizers seems to allow several inches of off-center implement adjustment. When at the max, the more canted lift rod's angle can apparently apply too much side force for the strength of the arm's retainer bracket. I hope your...

MX5400 hydraulic arm shaft and control rod damage

I believe I can offer a theory about how the lift arm can get moved sideways. It's caused by 3pt loads, despite the fact that heim ball joints only transmit force, not twist. Looking at mcmxi's first picture in post #69, it dawned on me that the lifting rod and lower link pin are in a moving...
