Thinking about building a new house.

Do you really expect to be using the kitchen while you're sleeping? Why separate those rooms? And how many sinks do you need in there? You only need one, get rid of that sink in the bathroom. You're going to want garage doors on the sides as well as the front and back.

    The Olympics

Rock, stone, doesn't really matter. It's about 42lbs and a little shy of 150ft from hack (the starting block looking thing) to hack. On the specially designed ice they use, it's surprisingly easy to get it all the way down there. That being said, it does take a lot of leg force to kick out...

    The Olympics

There's always stick curling, too. We just had a "give it a curl" event last weekend. There's always a spike in interest in curling about this time of year every 4 years... Curious... :D I heard that there were about 10 people out of 150 that came through our event that were there to try the...

    The Olympics

Nick Baumgartner is from the teeny town my parents grew up in. My parents know his parents. Or at least they know OF each other - I mean, it's a small town, you know. It's pretty cool seeing him wakeboarding on the lake for practice. Other than that... I'm a curler. I like to watch...

    Implement Lift lever

There's also distance UNDER the ground. if you're running a plow or such you may go down below 5. Also, change up your linkages on your lower arms and you'll get different results. It's kinda like an amp going up to 11. It's one more than the others...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I took it out to snowblow the several inches that had accumulated. Before I knew it I realized the auger wasn't turning. 2nd stage was fine. Great, replace the shear pin again. Except, nope... Chain between auger and drive shaft in the back was broken. A rock got wedged up in the hole the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I suppose it was probably a week and a half ago, but I moved a new vanity from the pole barn (where it was sitting since we've received it) to the back door so we could install it in our bathroom remodel. Holy crap was it heavy. Only 52" long, but still heavier than snot. Snow hasn't been an...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Sounds like you fixed the problem, to me. I figure if I buy a snowblower and it doesn't snow all winter.... Hey, I kept the driveway clear!

Cell phone mount for open station tractor

I always keep my phone in my pocket. I like to have it when I get off the tractor or whatnot. Seems like on the tractor I lose bluetooth easily (earbuds). One exception is when my phone is dead and I need to have it plugged in. I put in USB on the tractor, and it's fast-charge, too, but I...

    Stabilizing When There's No Implement

Yeah, that bungee is a POS. The hooks are just about worthless. Also, there isn't really anywhere to hook it. I haven't yet, but I want to replace mine somehow. I've got Pat's QH so it'd be cool to put a semi-permanent bungee on there and just adjust the width with the turnbuckles and know...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

That's because you have a cab. I would prefer the wet sloppy stuff any day. It's not as easy to avoid a clog, but something about having a solid stream of snow going into the woods is nice. I'm not a big fan of the amorphous cloud of snow to drive thru.

Sayings you remember from years ago

In reference to his kids seeing "questionable" content on TV or witnessing "questionable" behavior from said parent or the like... "It's nothing he won't learn on the school bus." Having spent some time on the school bus.... Fact check true...

Sayings you remember from years ago

I've tried adapting it to "Want in one hand..." with my son (and to a lesser extent, my daughter) but something about a 5 year old brain doesn't really connect the dots.

Sayings you remember from years ago

An old boss tended to mix up sayings. We called them "Washisms". Sometimes we'd call him "Confucialeski" (you know, after Confucius). He was of Polish decent. Anyway, one of our favorites was, "That's gonna blow up like a Christmas tree." Another one, popular outside our list of washisms was...

    Solidworks drawings, post here!

At my (second to) last job they brought in a guy to teach us GD&T. 4 hour class a day for 1 or 2 weeks. Just to get the basics. Now I realize how essential GD&T is. At my current job we make hand trucks and other fabrication. We get drawings with GD&T on them and we completely disregard it...

    Solidworks drawings, post here!

I've used Solidworks for probably 15 years and PTC for a few years, but now I'm forced to use Inventor (about a year in now). For the most part, Inventor is ok. Don't tell Inventor I said that. I can get around and basically do everything I need to do here. I still hate it. Every day I have...

The only difference between off road diesel and on road is taxes and some red dye. Replace the taxes with red dye and voila.
