They were made from either ceramic or porcelain. The unfired clay is called green, so a green handle on a piss pot would fall right off when you tried to use it.

An old boss tended to mix up sayings. We called them "Washisms". Sometimes we'd call him "Confucialeski" (you know, after Confucius). He was of Polish decent.
Anyway, one of our favorites was, "That's gonna blow up like a Christmas tree." Another one, popular outside our list of washisms was "we'll burn that bridge when we get to it."

When I was a kid, Saturday morning was the only day of the week I could lay in bed. My Dad worked third shift as a policeman and when he got home at 7:30 and still found me in bed his saying was
