Unloaded my new generator the other day and uncrated it today. Wanted one large enough to carry my water heater and AC during the summer.

That’s what I found when I goo
I googled it but I thought maybe yours looked a little cleaner in the photo. Do you feel it is robust and worth the 💰?

I have one of their L01 grille guards. Real pretty when installed but its already bent and beat up from the first summer's use. They protect the grille but if you use your tractor like I use mine they won't stay pretty.

Snow finally melted and I decided to harvest a little of the bounty Mother Nature keeps providing. This should keep the fireplace fed while we watch the game :)

Took of the snowblower and installed the fel. The thought of doing it was more intimidating than actually doing it. Then I got some practice with the buckt moving piles of snow around, especially the high one at the end of the driveway. Made it a lot safer to pull out onto the road.

Turned the scarifiers on the BB upside down. Will just use it as a RB for the expected snow tomorrow, if needed. Doubt it'll stick much. Been so warm.

Removed 2 gallons from the generator's tank and plopped my Tera pump with auto shutoff into the container sitting on the brake pedals. Didn't take it all, only 2.6 hours. Guess they did really fill it on delivery.

A series of small jobs to get in before tomorrow’s anticipated rain/snow. The road has been getting to look a bit ragged as the gravel migrated out of the wheel tracks.

Switched the float remote to the sidelink and on with the backblade to pull the gravel back to center. Being able to float the sidelink made the job faster and easier than it was pre-top/tilt.

Maybe not perfect but much better. Hope to get at least a couple more years out of it before we have to add more rock.

Then on to being the most expensive wheel barrow I’ve ever owned. Despite leaf removal in the fall, leaves always gather at the basement door. I was there, the bucket was there, a rake was there: the leaves left in the bucket.

Most of my implements are on dollies in the heated shop. These two hang out together in the shed. Done with the backblade so it’s back with its buddy, the rotary cutter.

Then back to the heated shop to pick up the chipper to clean up a little brush pile by the bees created by one of our winter storms a few weeks ago. We got the tree taken care of but deferred the chipping in favor of more pleasant weather. 60 degrees and sunny today definitely qualified for more pleasant.

Well yesterday up to about 5pm I was working on my low voltage lighting under the deck in 60deg temps (record warmth) in a tee shirt.
This morning, back to reality:

The crappy thing about the super warm weather we have had is the driveway thawed out. There were areas I was turning the blower into an earth mover before I adjusted the hydraulic top link.

Saturday I rented a disc & added about 1/2 acre to my garden area. Plan to go back over today. I have been looking for a good deal on both a disc or pto tiller and a fertile spreader

Used the little girl to unload the gas caddy out of back of truck and then set shelf a pallet of blocks down for the (cinder block fire pit for the evaporator) inaugural walnut and maple sap/syrup season. We are are sitting at 22F today but it will be time for some spikes hopefully in next week or two maybe?

Nice wood pile. Are you happy with the hydraulic wood splitter? What brand is it?

I took it out to snowblow the several inches that had accumulated. Before I knew it I realized the auger wasn't turning. 2nd stage was fine. Great, replace the shear pin again. Except, nope... Chain between auger and drive shaft in the back was broken.
A rock got wedged up in the hole the chain goes in and, let me tell you... Rocks don't make very good chain tensioners.
It's not too bad, it just threw a master link. Unfortunately the one I got from Family Farm and Home wasn't wide enough. I assume the "H" in "60H" stands for heavy duty. The plates on the master links that I got were about 3/4 as thick as the plates on the chain.
Hopefully tractor supply has it, otherwise I might be taking a flapper to my chain and take a few thou off thickness. I don't want to do that.
