    PTO on mower

https://www.sloanex.com/pto-speed-wrench.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gad_source=1 I think the above is the link to the wrench described by @hedgerow.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Still pulling fence posts whenever I have an hour or two. Some were kind of buried in the undergrowth so slid the forks off the fork frame to minimize interference.

More easily adjusting lift rod on 3 point?

I have hydraulic top and side links now but for about the first year I had the stock turnbuckles with the little nubs. About 5 minutes into adjusting my boxblade, I took a detour to the scrap metal pile and found a piece of pipe that fit the nubs on the toplink and another that fit the nubs on...

Inexpensive sickle bar mower for pond

Usually I’m an advocate for wearing the seatbelt on slopes, but around a pond like that probably wouldn’t want to be strapped to that thing if it loses traction and slides into the water. YMMV…

Any additional nput on 3pt chippers?

We used to do that pretty routinely a few decades ago. Then about 40 billion people moved here and it was decided we can’t do that any more. Build a bonfire/brush fire in the used to be rural county I live in and about the time it gets going good the fire department will show up, put it out, and...

What is the perfect tractor for you, if you could have any tractor you wanted, and why?

I’d keep the L4701. Took a hard look at CTL’s and Ventrac when I was shopping for a long term solution for our property but thought at the time neither would fully address our needs. We had smaller 2WD antiques previously. No way I’d want smaller. Going bigger would require significant changes...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Started one of the few post retirement projects that is a “because I want to”, and no other reason. If I never did this one, I don’t think anyone else would care at all. We have about 40 acres north of the creek that splits our property. The houses, pond, public road, etc. is on the south side...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

The chain is a short piece of 5/16 transport chain with a grab hook on one end and nothing on the other. The puller plate has a 5/16 chain slot on one end. Chain is attached to the loader by wrapping the hook end around something on the grapple or fork frame, whichever happens to be on at the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

When the county cut in this sewer line along the north side of our creek about 20 years ago (eminent domain is such a lovely concept) they put a silt fence using T posts on the downslope side. The cloth part is long gone but the T posts remain. Wife had wanted them gone for years. I sort of...

    Rear Remote recommendations- Its time

Not advocating for OEM, but just FYI this is what three dealer installed OEM remotes look like on my L4701. The bigger one in third position (nearest the fender) is the float detent valve. The silver block to the right of the valves (the three rusty looking things) is the base that’s required...

    Rear Remote recommendations- Its time

I have three OEM rear remotes on my L4701; 2 spring center and one float. They rear remotes and hydraulic top/side link are the only things I would have changed in my initial purchase order if I could redo it. I had reasons for wanting float and have no regrets but if you don’t want/need float...

I despise buying home appliances such as refrigerators!

1963 Clark chest freezer. Lid springs don’t work and NLA. The chain on the wall has a S hook that hooks to the handle to hold the lid up. It’s big enough to hold a whole steer plus some. Otherwise it works great.

Fixing the dreaded po 605 low voltage to ecm.

Pretty interesting it wasn’t necessary to sync the injectors to the new ECU with Diagmaster, but if it works, it works and I’m surely no expert on Kubota ECU replacement. That’s certainly a lot cheaper than dealer. BTW, the massage parlor is Therapeutic Asian massage 😉 and it’s just in the same...

I despise buying home appliances such as refrigerators!

Among the three houses we currently have 8 refrigerators and two chest freezers. Oldest working freezer is 61 years old. Oldest working refrigerator is 58. 3 others are over 20. The only ones we’ve had problems with are a couple of fancy high efficiency models my wife wanted for our kitchen...

Messick's Telescopic Stabilizer Kit - BX Series

Second upvote for telescopic stabilizers. Have used chain/turnbuckle and adjustable solid with prior tractors. My L came with telescopic. Didn't think they were an upgrade until I used them a bit. Major upgrade if you swap 3 point stuff even occasionally.

What do you think happened? Please view pictures

Kind of odd how the bucket level indicator rod and tube are bent in several directions. I would guess lack of grease was the primary contributor to the egg shaped pin boss but not likely what caused the breaking and twisting. Doubt that zerk shown in pictures 2 & 3 has ever seen a grease gun. My...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Like many others, did a bit of mowing. Fawns have just gotten big enough there’s not much concern about running over them. When I got to the area around the pond, noticed what initially looked like an out of place rock. Upon closer inspection, a rock with beady little eyes and claws. One of my...

Binders and Chains or Ratchet Straps

I use chains and ratchet binders for the tractor. Strap(s) to meet legal requirements for the implements. Already had chains for rigging for tree felling, skidding, etc. so binders were only thing needed to buy. I don’t haul other people’s stuff and I can accept a few isolated chain marks, but I...

    Replacing loader valve

I’m no hydraulic guru so if one of the true experts shows up go with what they say, but two things: 1) Based on your question, you have Tank, Pump, and Power Beyond identified and know where they go so you got the most important part. If you aren’t sure on those, you need to be before firing it...
