G2160 bogging down and blowing white smoke at higher RPM

Perhaps your lift pump isn't being powered steadily, and the bad battery would effect that.

    Quick attach damage

Usually hydraulics bent it, and hydraulics can straighten it!

Private sale, paying cash, what are the risks/procedures?

I've been on the other end of a sale, and wonder about the buyer! I do a lot of visiting before and then during pickup. I know before hand their living address, FB friend, family and comments. I take pictures of the truck, trailer and tractor secured on the trailer, and their intended roads...

    Loader mount bolts breaking off

Does your loader setup have any steel support going from the pod the loader towers set in or attached to and going back to the rear axle? If you don't you're putting a lot of stress where your bolts are giving up!

    cylinder rebuild

See post #2. Bill shows a picture of the tool that makes the job easy. You can do it without the tool, just takes more time and patience. It helps to put the seal in hot water for a while to soften it up.

Obviously crazy Craig's list tractor adds?

Some dude has used my Amazon account to purchase a "something something phone". I need to confirm it was my purchase. I hit #1 to talk to the Amazon person. I ask them what was purchased, when, what was the shipping address, the amount of the sale. When I tell them I need to contact Amazon...

Gear oil vs UDT in front axle

But the topic is UDT. That is a different product then Super UDT2. The point I have been struggling to get you to see, just so others know the truth.

    40 ft Span Bridge

Might check with some trucking companies and locate a flat bed trailer they are parting with. I see them in Kansas City for sale from $400-$1000, for 40 footers.

    Another Tractor Project

Paul, an interesting project. I'd revisit the fuel shut off lever you described. If it was just for fuel shut off and not throttle it would not need to be such a long lever. The older Kubotas just had a pull know to shut off the fuel. Might be something not connected. Have fun, but don't...

Yes Hydraulic fluid can go bad

Your log splitter probably has a vent in the fill plug. This allows air in/out as the fluid heats and cools.

    Hydraulic Cylinder Aftermarket Replacement

George, as you prove, when it comes to hydraulic cylinders going back to the manufacturer can be expensive. A year ago I needed to rebuild the tilt cylinders on a 35 year old BobCat skidsteer. The dealer did not have the kit but could get it. I had to prepay for it and the price was like $47...

    cylinder rebuild

What Dave said often happens. You might check with the hyd. shop to get information on parts availability for you to repair, and their price if you bring the cylinder and they do all the work. Then proceed to use it to see if the seals swell some. If not, you know what to do, what it will...
