    Rear Tire Chains on L-48

You should be able to swap those tires left to right and put them on the outside of the inner hub and gain more width.....

    Rear Tire Chains on L-48

Agreed, never seen an L48 with turfs! Yes you will need spacers as Wolfman states or you can flip the rims to the outside of the hubs if you have a 2 piece rim assembly. When you flip the rims out you will swap left to right keeping tires pointed in the right direction and put the rims on from...

    L48 front axle seal

the trick on those axles is to take all the bolts/nuts off the cover 080 shown in the picture, then gently pry or wack with rubber mallet until it comes out of the housing. then lay the hub 010 on a flat surface and with two pry bars or large screwdrivers, pry the 020 bearing then 040 gear away...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Didn't get to grab any pictures so I owe you guys some Kubota porn in the near future. I tested out my neighbors 10' QT snow pusher in the 14" storm we got over the weekend with my L3710....which had plenty of power but not enough traction to push snow down the entire driveway..it had to pull...

New Kubotas delivered with Super UDT-2 in front axle case?

Benhameen, IMO you're totally fine using any sort of UDT fluid in the front axle. There are no clutches, friction surfaces, or pumps in ANY of the Kubota front axles, only bearings, shafts and gears. Thinner fluid like UDT or SUDT2 will help "flush" the particles off the axle housing and get...

New Kubotas delivered with Super UDT-2 in front axle case?

Just my $.02 being a self employed Kubota service tech for the past 8+ years..... Gear lube allows water to separate out and ICE will form in your axles, causing the final drive gears to freeze and or breaking the housing or blowing the cap off the bottom of your axle, depending on the design...

    Grease gun question

My dad burned through two 12v lincolns, though he was using them daily to service machines. You can get the Dewalt unit for $169 (bare tool) assuming you have their 20v max tools. I've used Lincoln, Amptron, and Harbor freight and I can assure you if you try the Dewalt you will see the...

Titan Skid Steer 42" Pallet Fork

My forks were delivered strapped to a pallet and delivered by RL carriers on a box truck with a lift gate. I have a decent sized yard and driveway, he was able to turn around no problem. If you have a short driveway these guys are real good about backing up their trucks, they do it for a...

Dave, keep me posted if your backhoe ends up selling. I wish you the best of luck, I keep telling people that backhoes seem to go for more than they'd think!

    Trans oil

X10 on what everyone above has mentioned about getting what you paid for and SUDT2 making HST quieter and working better. No more whine, MUCH quieter, better operation at cold temps...all benefits of a quality synthetic oil. If you're running some old GST or Manual trans machine, regular UDT...

    Grease gun question

I work for DeWalt (Stanley) and love their 20v Max 10,000 psi grease gun. I use it on my Takeuchi and Kubota often and I'm VERY happy with the build quality. I had two Harbor Freight ones and an Amptron or something like that...all were junk compared to the Dewalt. Paired with the lock and...

Kubota L48 Engine Won't Turn Over

Unless the circuitry is looking for a resistor, usually you can jumper out switches for troubleshooting

Kubota L48 Engine Won't Turn Over

I would think the safety should be open when the pedal is moved and closed when stopped, but maybe its the opposite. Does the ohm change when the pedal is moved? Since debris was around the machine when it developed the issue, maybe something ripped a wire? Take a look at the schematic and...

Kubota L48 Engine Won't Turn Over

It sure sounds like the HST pedal got jammed and that's triggering the safety switch at the HST to prevent the machine from restarting. Find out why the HST pedal isn't centering (stick or debris jammed in there? Centering mechanism broken?) and that will solve your issue.

Help Me Buy My First Kubota This Week

X2 to take a look at L's as well. Just make sure you don't end up with anything with DPF....lots of the new stuff has the emissions requirements for Tier IV and its GARBAGE. Also many of the B models you're looking at are HST, if you want a belly mower you'll need HST for the L as well. The...

    Led work light recomendations

X2 on the cheap but highly rated LED's on Amazon. I have them on several of my machines and I'm VERY happy with them! So far no fogging, they stand up fine to vibration, and are BRIGHT with low power draw! Try to order the floods but they often ship you spots even when you order...

    Quick attach pallet forks

Bumpkin, in theory you're 100% correct. http://www.palletforks.com/clamp-on-pallet-forks-1-500-lbs-capacity-w-stabilizer-bar.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiAhuSzBRDBoZfG56bK9-YBEiQARiPcZWM5CebwSQTXDJjnzX2JvEDXOyyeh6pWFuF75CSftRMaAmgc8P8HAQ In practice, the clamp on forks only add about 100# to your...

    Quick attach pallet forks

Bumpkin, what's wrong with the clamp on forks? The BX doesn't have huge lifting capacity so the likelihood of you bending your bucket is minimal. Payne and others make clamp on forks for $250 and you're done. I used a set of home-made clamp on forks on my B9200 successfully for many years.

    tire ballast question

I think Sammy has it nailed, since the weight is not actually being supported by the axles, the concern by the mfg is on too much traction and possible damage as a result. If you're prudent with your HST usage (or GST or DT), I don't see how ballast + BH is an issue for reliability. My dad has...
