    Placement of Hooks on Bucket

Thanks to all of you for your pictures, suggestions, and comments. It does give me more to think about and what I'm going to do. I also plan on getting a pair of loader forks that slip onto & clamp onto the loader bucket. This way I can pick up brush piles and cut logs a little easier -...

    Placement of Hooks on Bucket

GWD - thanks. My dealer recommended using the same type of hooks that are on your link. He also said that the hooks that are welded to the top of the bucket should be kept "inside" of the loader arms - like you suggested too. I'd like to see a picture of the hook that is welded to the back of...

Very impressive collection of Gasoline Alley stuff. It must have taken a while to collect all that stuff. Very nice.

    New member introduction.

JPL - welcome to OTT. I'm fairly new to this forum also - but let me say that there's a ton of info contained here....and if you don't find it - just ask the question and there's lots of knowledgeable people who will help you out. Also check out the videos too.....

    Mobile App, or mobile native

Being an owner of an Android phone - and an avid follower of OTT - I'd love to see an app developed - that resembles the TractorByNet one (which I already have on my phone.)

    Good price?

For a tractor that is 14 yrs old - that's an average of 400 hrs per year - or about 8 hrs per week. From that perspective - it not that high......but I'm no expert..........

    L3400

I say that even for $ 17k that its a good deal considering that you're getting a box blade, brush hog, duragrader and the quick attach. I can tell you - for certain - that the L3400 is now the (new) L3800 - that will cost: New - out the door - with a FEL and no attachments will cost you in the...

    Placement of Hooks on Bucket

I'd like to get some 3/8" hooks welded to the bucket of my tractor for securing chains. I'll probably put two of them on the top of the bucket - with one on each end - but the dealer is saying that a lot of people put a hook "inside the bucket" - near the center up against the back. Has anyone...

    Which models are less "tippy"?

Bulldog - I don't have the tractor yet - but I talk like I already do. I've researched the heck of this issue and finally decided on the 3800. I think it's a good combination of weight, HP, and dollars spent. As you soon as the weather breaks here in Michigan I will visiting my K dealer with...

    Which models are less "tippy"?

I don't know much about mowing on a hillside - but it would seem that a heavier tractor would be best - without a cab - since the cab raises the center of gravity. The wider R4 tires (versus the narrower AG ones) might help too.
  12. tk1469

Now I went and did it...

I plan on getting the R4 tires when I (soon) get my L3800. My reasoning is that the R4 tires are a little easier on the parts of my property that have grass on them. The Turf tires wouldn't work out very well in the sand or mud and the AG tires were too aggressive on the grassy areas - thus -...

    Another suggestion

I agree ! Before I visited OTT I knew "zip" - "Nada" about tractors or Kubotas. Mr. K and ServiceDeptVic have done a great job at educating us with a website forum that is professionally run and organized. I know I'm new to this forum - but having come from an IT background - I know that...

    Did I add too much?

A lot of times Amazon.com has "used books" for sale too - at pretty cheap prices. (Don't forget to use the Amazon.Com link on OTT - per Mr. K's posting)

    Not a suggestion - just a compliment

I was glad to see that more categories were added to OTT. Thank you to Mr. K or one of the other administrators who did this - I know it took some time to sort thru all the threads. Good Job !!

    suggestion #2

I agree. The thread watcher would be nice to have. I think some of the other FORUMS I've been on have this.

Vic's bet re. 3 pt hitch problem

You guys are great! I figured SDV would be right - you be the man ! Hope the fritters are good. Hey - SDV - how about creating a video about doing this? Sounds like this is something everyone could benefit from. TK:)
