Headlights on L series (new vs old)

Been comparing the current L series tractor (including the L3700SU) to the newer ones - specifically the L3800. How do the headlights differ? The brochures say that the new ones have "2 headlights" - but the older ones seem to have 2 also. Does anyone know how these two product lines compare...

Vic - thanks for all that info. I also want to compliment you on your "servicing your kubota 101" video series. I learned a lot and enjoyed them. Keep them coming......

Kubota vs JohnDeere - Comparison Video

Yeah - I know he did "lay it on pretty thick" - but it was good to see the L3800 in action and kind of up close.

Kubota vs JohnDeere - Comparison Video

Here's a video I got off another Tractor Forum that compares the new L3800 to a comparable JohnDeere model. Pretty interesting. http://www.deenimplement.com/videolibrary.asp?page=0&videoid=6830&mode=summary&type=all

    Jerky 3-pt hitch - still a problem ??

I'm planning on purchasing a new L3800 in the Spring and after seeing the post by Aniforos - it seems like the new units from Kubota is still having the problem of a jerky 3-point hitch. How many folks out there are still having this issue? How has your dealer addressed it ? Thank you !!

Thanks BKY. I already had a shortcut defined for this site - but it does have a lot of information on it about older tractors.

    Kubota B8160 - fit an L3800 ?

I ran across a used Kubota Ballast Box - Model B8160. Can anyone tell me if this fit the 3-pt hitch on an L3800 or similar Kubota ? What kind of capacity (weight) would this equate to if filled with heavy sand or concrete ?

Grease Zerks or Sealed Parts ?

I'm new to Kubotas - but I know that most of the newer cars nowadays don't have grease zerks on them - but are instead using "sealed components" without zerks. What do the newer Kubotas have on them? Myself, I would prefer the zerks.

    L3010 won't shut off normally

Just wondering - if this is a "common problem" with the 3010 models - was the location of the fuses changed on later models ??? Does anyone know where the fuses are on the newer ones (i.e. L3800) versus the location on the 3010 ?? Just trying to see what issues I might have down the road...

    Tractor Cabs

Thanks. The snow here in Michigan is making me think about whether I should buy one initially, or spring for it later. I guess I need to "mull this over" a bit......

How do I Insure My Kubota ?

Babyfat - can you purchase the Kubota insurance if you don't finance the tractor? I requested a quote on an L3800 - I'll post the figures once they come back to me.

    Tractor Cabs

I'm thinking on getting a cab for my L3800 and wondering if anyone out there has an after market cab on their Kubota ? I'd put it on in the late Fall and take it off in the Spring. Is a heater or fan a must to eliminate "fogging up" ??

How long to warm up before using ?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I guess the rule of thumb should be that you let it run longer when its really cold out - but not so long that it carbons up. Thanks guys !

How long to warm up before using ?

Like my 'signature' says - I'm planning on getting an L3800 in the Spring, but I'm wondering in the Summer - and in the Winter - how long should you let a diesel warm up before you start using it? I know that diesels run better - as they get warmer - but how long should they be warmed up before...
