    L3901 tie-rod, possible over-greasing question

I don't think you should worry about them as grease is "good" It will work itself to equibrium. The only one I heard you can overdo is @ the front axle underneath. As I understood it, you can overshoot, but it just fills the cavity... RE the loader, keep it greased regularly (I approximate...

Repairing a Bent Mower Deck Rim

Don't know what the gauge is on my f@rd 60"mmm but it is really thick! Here in "Rockville" PA I have still managed to bend it occasionally. I use a combo of the above - BIG ole crescent wrench from my grandfather and judicious use of a big sledge. FWIW There was no tapping going on - it took...

    Hummers yet?

None yet in PA - at least the former :p

    Ghost in the Machine? BH77

Super thanks Dan - suspected that but is counterintuitive based on the fact that I changed out the full case H Fluid & filter @ 50 hours JIC. Meaning it is super clean, should be flushed out from break-in etc. but you never know...

    Ghost in the Machine? BH77

Holy moly and thank you for the tutorial - I really want to understand what is going on and how it is supposed to operate. Level-up questions: Most have this problem at higher hours right? What would cause this in a low-hour unit and why on earth did it not appear in 2 years of use if...

    Ghost in the Machine? BH77

Thanks- no difference between cold/hot when it occurred. Not sure what you mean by the sticky port relief - infer it is a valve/port assembly where it opens & closes to control the pressure? Will check the linkages asap

    Ghost in the Machine? BH77

Hi all - Need advice on my BH77. Not sure what is going on or if I have a real problem or not. Read all previous threads I could find and none seem to have this issue without a lot of hours etc. Last Sunday out of the blue the BH boom would not hold and visibly, sagged, losing pressure when...

    Time to test the Toothbar

Mine hasn't been off in 2 years either. BTW - One whack on the ankle and you won't forget ever again - ask me how I know as well :p

    Carpenter Bees.....

HATE them with a passion and will hunt them down and kill them with NO remorse, unlike other pollinators. They ate my cedar wood siding at my old place & go after unpainted parts of the shed & chicken coop here. I've seen various trap contraptions for sale & was going to make some... (google...

    L2501

Would have been very happy to buy used at a fair price ( i.e. not "new"/full boat) For me it was the "Goldilocks" choice and a SUPER tractor. My only regret is not doing it sooner!

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

Thanks for all of the advice. I sharpen my own mover & chainsaw blades and will tackle these when the need comes. I prob will get some spares as well.

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

I was thinking how challenging it would be with geared - wouldn't even attempt it. Thanks- I appreciated the links to the camera & Jeff's sharpening & supply. It must be the Missouri stubbornness and my tendency to DIY but what exactly is the limiting factor to resharpening these? I know...

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

@GeoHorn I was definitely not suggesting that - and have seen stump burning work. It was just a crazy worst-case nightmare scenario to the comment above. I still find it hard to believe that they can't get it out somehow

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

So... I am not that far from coal country, but it is not right here. Assume you all heard of Centralia PA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centralia_mine_fire and the underground coal mine fire that they can't put out EVER. What a disaster.

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

I was super careful, but I am on a ridge with glacial deposits ranging in size from softballs to Suburbans! Despite the pickaxe and careful digging, I found some where the root support surrounded the rock (NOT COOL MAN!) I did hear the tone change and quickly pulled up, but it is a matter of...

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

Will have to look into the camera - after three days straight I GET it! RE: the crate & top - I was already thinking that on both counts. Nice to hear that. I also scored an old steel display table from TSC that I was deciding on as well - I've been teaching myself to weld to keep my Ford &...

NEW WG24 Stump Grinder - Initial impressions!

Well all, I bit the bullet and took delivery of a Woodland Mills WG24 last week and wanted to share my thoughts and some lessons learned. Despite what my wife may think after this order, his forum is GREAT! To cut to the chase; I LOVE IT and am so happy with the performance so far! I have a...

    FEL bucket teeth

I grade areas of my property by the % of rock. I am super jealous of great soil. FWIW I could NEVER dig with the bucket and in most conditions, it is not designed for those loads/impacts. I went with a pirana and it works great for me. I actually need it to move material I have dug with the BH!

    525 loader relocating lever

A number of people find it too long and shortened it. It was awkward to me initially and I got used to it but keep thinking about it (I have long arms for my torso) I was box-blading today and that was the least of my problems... 😁 I sure would love a top n tilt!

Easier way of pulling down ROPS for storage

I also looked at this and actually bought the pins from TSC but didn't like the extra play in the slightly reduced diameter. Now I know they are tough but the thought of going over and needing it took me back to using the factory bolts. I use the extra pins with other stuff now. FWIW I am on a...
