Jeremy - - I liked the easily removable feature of the Piranha toothbar, but it's never been taken off. Always on the bucket. I think you'll really like it. (y)

That makes two of us. Once I put it on, I haven't removed it.

I am going to be spreading about 20 tons of top spoil in a few weeks. Interested to see if it makes it easier to get full buckets from the pile.

After 10 years - I have never taken it off either.

On thing to notice - if you are digging into a bank or trying to dig into the ground - engage the edge and wiggle the toothbar up and down - this will drive it in and make it easier to break off a good chunk of dirt!

Just one word of advice, be careful walking around your bucket. Those edges can hurt when you run into them not paying attention. Nothing like firsthand experience to learn from.

I have heard this before.

I believe some people use a piece of 2" pvc with a slit cut in it to cover the tooth bar when the tractor is not in use. I will probably do something like this

Mine hasn't been off in 2 years either.

BTW - One whack on the ankle and you won't forget ever again - ask me how I know as well :p

Installed that bar on both tractors, neither has ever been off. I have learned to bury the bar in the ground when it is not in use(I was slow and hit my ankles a few times)

BXPANDED is a local company. Made a custom weld in repair toothbar for skidsteer bucket for the M59. What really improves function on a low Hp tractor makes a big difference with a little more hp behind it. Clearing brush nothing is faster. V-teeth pull stuff out of the ground a grapple has troubles with. Can’t beat grapple for carrying. This time year best for clearing. Believe a toothbar is one the best, biggest difference and cheapest attachments you can get. Enjoy.

I've seen other posts suggesting ways to mitigate damage while parked. A cover if you use the bucket for utility (fertilizer bags, tools...) could be helpful. I happen to have another identical bucket with a smooth edge and just switch buckets or tractors.
So, I just curl the bucket down and allow the bar to sit on the ground. There is no way for it to hurt someone like that. The bar is robust and that has not seemed to have any impact on performance. YMMV

I just leave my bucket flat/level to the floor such that the teeth don’t catch anything…got snagged couple times myself. Seemed to be the better option.

I just got mine Tuesday and installed it. I am really happy with it. Makes a real difference in the ability to scoop easier good size loads. Thanks BX.

I'd really be interested to hear how this did removing sod. I have one and love it, I generally use for removing small saplings and such. Does a fine job of that.

I do not have a tooth bar quite like that, but it would not "bury" easily in my concrete floor.

An easy way to protect yourself and others from the sharp edges is to cut off the required length of 4" drain pipe and cut it in a straight line length wise. Open the cut edge and slip over the dangerous part.
